Atomix played pretty straight against us last time I played them, they seemed like good guys.

heres an excerpt from my original post after nppl nj...

at the nppl nj s7 i was in the vip box watching a game. a player on atomix red had his leg hanging out of his bunker. a player on the oposite tape a good 50 feet away walked a string onto his ankle. the whole crowd...200 plus and the vip box saw it hit and break on his ankle. the ref by the shooter even saw it. the atomix cheater pulled his leg back in tight and a second later it came back out clean before a ref could check him.....the ref calls him clean. everybody in the stands goes nuts screaming that he was hit. all the vip's...promotors, nppl staff, ppp, sponsors, etc in the vip box dont even get upset about what they saw. one guy even says "that was a slick move". what does that say about tourney pb and its chances of being taken seriously.

and the original thread on cheating..

i kinda know one of the kids on atomix "blue", he used to play for a team local to me. he said even the other atomix teams dont like playing the "red" team, because they play shady.

Good luck, except in Game 6. FatCity is a local team here in Atlanta. As much as I like you guys, gotta pull for the local boys to do well.

                Otherwise, kick some tail!

I honestly don't remember which Atomix I played, but they seemed to play straight and they beat us pretty sound. But the truth of the matter is that tournament players in general play shady. Dynasty, the poster boys and fantasies of every teenage paintball player, play probably one of the shadiest forms of ball I've ever seen. They were walking around the field in NJ kicking full pods of paint under their bunkers before games, while talking to refs. And don't even get me started on how fixed everything is.

There have been plenty of times when I've put 5 shots into a guy that he supermans off, or a guy will continue his run through after I've shot him, and you know what, I'll just shoot him again.

Regretably, the tournament scene is not one of honesty, and as a good friend of mine who plays professional ice hockey told me, "Paintball will never be big until people become honest, it just won't happen"

my favorite was at nppl nj when the announcer kept yelling that the "crowd loves dynasty", "everybodies favorite team", etc etc...when the crowd kept boooing them and cheering naughty dogs and bushwackers more. bad company got more cheers that dynasty, but the announcer was just pulling for his and chucks favorite reguardless what the crowd wanted.

the only time the crowd agreed with him was when "the most exciting player in PB today or ever" frodo, i mean rocky baggins, was tossing out t-shirts to shut them up after a bad ref call in a game. sorry to pee on anybodies parade but that guy is a scruffy hobbit...ill bet he has furry feet!

I know this is the wrong thread for this but I wanted to respond to the cheating thought on here. At some point everyone cheats a little, either by leaving the start box a half second early on accident or on purpose, or by not raising their gun when exitting the field, to draw fire. I hate it when some players will get shot and continue their run. After the game they will say they see nothing wrong with that. Here is what is wrong with that, while you are drawing my fire another of your players is advancing on my position, and that is wrong. If I shoot you get off the field, all the bonus balls I give you do not make up for the fact that you cheated and won the game.

Heh, your also going up against Setion 8. I'm pretty sure they are the same Section 8 as the team here in Mexico (our archenemies). If it's them, they have a masters in cheating.

                          Best of luck!
