charity paintball tourney in the making

Well, paintball and school have never mixed, But this time (I think) there might be an exception. I am in a class called "Sports and Entertainment Marketing" and the teacher has got major connection with everybody in the biz. Today I asked her if she would be willing to help me put a charity paintball event together. She thought it would be a great idea and is going to help me out. So far I'm thinking 5-man hyperball/speedball, no less than 8 teams, but am debating if I should open it up to people outside the school. As for the location I am in the proceess of contacting a local field. If anyone in the SE WI area wants to help out let me know we need all the sponsors/people we can get. The event itself probably wont be until next year around spring, because we need to give people time to get teams together. Any suggestion will be taken into consideration.

Awesome idea man! You should definitely open it up to other schools tho, i think you'll get a huge response if you do. I'm from Racine and i'm sure we could get a few teams from here to come if ur interested. I'd say talk to local fields (possibly even Sam's) and see what you can do. I'll put up flyers and word around here and help in any other ways i can. Good luck!

    Peace,
    J.J.

I'd say open the tourney to everybody, you may get less people then you expect if you dont. You also should aim for both large and small sponsors, people to donate prizes/money, and make sure to get a location large enough to accomodate all teams and people participating and watching the tourney. Also, you need to make sure that you have food, paintball player get really hungry, or at least i do . Be sure not to run out of paint and air, that usually tends to cause angry teams, and people demanding their money back. That's pretty much it, make sure everything is safe, and most of all everyone has a good time.

I would only have it at Sam's. If they dont want to have it there then it won't happen at all. I am going to Sam's probably next weekend to talk to them about it. I am also in the process of contacting local sponsors such as restauraunts, pro shops, and another business that sells tape measures(I know the owner very well so thats a for sure sponsor) so they can donate prizes or money for the tourney. This is going to be great if everything works out!

My team is hosting a charity event in New Jersey at ET Paintball on November 2nd.

Go to the meet and greet forum and the "Paintball for Charity" thread for information.

          Thanks
