    Intrested in an Automag

Hey there! I've been playing on and off for awhile and this year I've been doing it quite a bit. I own a Tippmann 98 and a PMI Pirahna Pro E. My Pro E died the last time I played, I live in New England and it was raining, the Co2 frooze up the electronics! I thought I was done in the middle of the day when a guy in the pro shop let me borrow his Automag! I was pretty impressed.

It was a very comfortable gun and it shot real nice. Pretty much stock too. I consider myself pretty gun savy in that I know alot about how they work, so I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction about getting more information on what makes a Automag an Automag? And the differences between Automag, MiniMag and so on. I'm trying to pick just one gun for me, since I'm on a budget and I can't justify 2 guns. Thanks in advance!

You should go to each gun manufacturers forum or call them up. Ask the OWNER of the company why his gun is better. When you get your answers come back here and tell us what they said.

You should buy my gun because I have 5000 posts that say I care.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, I broke a good amount of paint because of the slant feed, I've used a Pirahna with a slant feed and its happened too. I'm just wondering if they sell vertical feed main bodies?

Automag - small, reliable, plenty of awesome upgrades, great customer support, etc...

The 68 mag and he Minimag perform identically. The onlt differances are the obvious visual ones, and the fact that a brand new minimag comes with a barrel while the g6 mag doesnt, and the minimag valve has 4 stars instead of 1.

yea they do sell vertical feed bodies. they are called ULE bodies. they are made of aluminum and are much lighter than the stock bodies.

Yes, they are called ULE bodies. You can find them at airgun.com

I wouldn't reccomend it unless you get the lvl 10 kit due to the blow back, which actually helps the power feed, feed.

The valves have 1-4 stars on them. Each star lets you send in your 'mag for service at no cost. Once they are gone, the servicing is no longer free.

Stars: Basically, it's a "free repair" system. If you need your gun fixed, you can send it to AGD and they will fix it for free, and drill out a star. Each service = 1 star.

Minimag vs Automag: Basically the same. Mainly it's the body that's the difference (the Minimag comes stock with a barrel, but if you buy used or buy something like the TKO Mag "kit", then it won't matter). Basically the same.

Are you running CO2 or N2? I can CO2 for a couple months when I first got my TKO 'Mag, and it worked fine. But, that may be because I live in SoCal, and it's usually pretty warm. 'Mags like Nitro a lot more, so if you can get that, it's better, but not neccisary.

To find a lot of info on how the 'Mag works, upgrades, etc - Check out this site (Automags.org). The front page has links to videos, tech tips, and all sorts of things.

                Recommended upgrades:
Level 10 - Probably the first upgrade most people would say. You don't have to worry about chopping balls at all once you get this baby set-up and tuned. It's a GREAT upgrade. No more chopping!

Intelliframe/Y-Grip - They are both a double trigger frame. They make the trigger a lot easier to shoot fast. Y-Grip is slanted forward, to give your wrist a more "natural" feel. Both are great frames.

That's about it. Any more questions and I'll try to answer. Also, the search function on this board reveals TONS of info. There's a lot spread out all over this board.

Thanks alot guys, I'll be looking into everything! I really don't like electronic guns and the Automag preformed jsut as good as my Pirahna, I'll keep you posted if I get one!

                  Sean "Duck Hunt"

PS- I'm also looking into going to Compressed air instead of Co2, since the humidity in New England is terrible, anyone have any good links explaining differences in tanks and all that? Thanks

                    good upgrades..

i-frame/y-grip ..nice trigger and nice pull.
hyperframe...electro frame for mags..short mouse click pull, and fast like an electro.

lvl 10..wont chop when its setup right. (comes with xvalve)

xvalve/RT valve...awesome upgrade, but only used with nitro!!! kinda of like the tippy 98 RT trigger..

ULE body...nice lightweight vertfeed main body. removeable feed tube (angel threads?) and has cocker threads for the barrel.

                    omega rail/rouge rail..nice rails..just lighter and milled..the omega raill...good luck finding it!

VA...used for a gas thru grip.

Stay away from non AGD products for the valve..ANS doesnt do anything performance wise, so ur waisting ur money if u buy it. the AGD stock parts are better anyway!

also...u dont need a reg...the mag valve has a internal reg and if u add one, u will starve the gun for air...it will be triple regged..(tank, mag valve, and the one u add)

also, check out the FAQs for more info.

hope this helps out! good luck with ur mag !
