    hmm

figure out what other club sports get but at clemson anything from 300 - 1000 per year is a blessing.

HAH..... Rutgers doesn't barely get jack squat..... Collegiate Nationals in Chicago last spring we had to basically pay for everything but entry and paint.

Be happy to get anything if ur just starting up. Gots to beg and plead, then they finally agree to something, and its put through the board to see where to draw funding from..... i hate politics....

This was a budget submitted for a rec club not tourney team. The school would not allow any $ from the budget to help the tourney team.

We had submitted a budget for 32,000 on year and ended up getting bout 15,000.
In the proposal was safety equipment for the club (in case someone wanted to try the sport we didn't have extra masks).
money for 2 trips to the local field for about 75 rentals and 30 or so self equipped (most of the money went here)
Field paint for the rentals (we packaged in a deal for bout half a case of paint and lunch to be included)
Paid field fees, all day air and half a case of paint for self equiped.
2 buses for transportation on each trip.
Money for advertisement (College rag, and photocopies)
Banner and office supplies were also included.

        That was the first budget.
The next 4 years the budget got smaller and smaller.
The last budget that I was familar with was barely enough for one trip for 75 rentals, paint, lunch, and bus.

And advice for ppl running a club.
Charge a fee for the trip. the reason it is easy to say yes to go paintball but it is incentive if you have $20 invested in it. We were bring newbies on a trip for $20 per person which included the following mask, marker, all day co2, 1000 rounds, 2 pod holder, 2 slices of pizza, soda, and chips.

Also in there were 2 accounts for the club
one was the budget from the student activities and another was the club's cash account. Money that was collected for deposit was place in the cash account. The main difference is the budget disappeared at the end of the year whether it was used or not (bad idea not to use it they cut our budget even though we used all of it, imagine what they do if you didn't). The cash account stays with the club.
Also I'm not sure how it works in your college but you also had a justification meeting at the end of the budget year to explain the use of the budget ( they stink).

holy s**t we couldn;t get a dime out of our college so we just said f**k it and went in our own directions and created i believe 4 seperate 5-man teams now and then one or two guys will switch teams for a tourney but thats about all we got is a kick right in the philosophical "bag"

When we submitted our proposal for funding, we just asked for way more than we expected. It also helps to explain how everything you are asking for will benefit safety. This year MTU got us a "Safety" Airball field along with some other funding, and hopefully next year we can come up with a good reason for a "Safety" Compressor.

              Messy

hey Messy; its "dangerous" to store compressed air over a period of time, so its a lot "safer" to compress it the day off and then release it into the atmosphere

                  Hey Shockerfreak,
The school did diddly squat for the tourney team. The club was basically a way for people who were interested in the sport to meet others and go out to play. I think at the height of the club we were going out every weekend. We even got local fields to give us a discount on field fees.

Wow I wish we could've gotten a "safety" air field. Parts of the budget that did get denied mask, and throat protectors.

                    Raise Funds

Me and some friends recently started a Paintball Club here at the University, about a month ago. We already have some funds. We are not really worried. Try to work tohether as a team, make connections with local busineses. Make fundraisers we recently had this fundraiser Called the Texas Paintball Massacre, it was a success all we had to do is had out team run around and charge people to shot us, It was all part of a carnival and we made good money, not to say good practice too.

It is hard to get funding initially, however another good source of income would be starting some kind of fundraiser.
Taking a long needed leave of the sport to finish school and tour the country
