its one of the many aftermarket parts for the impulse to fix problems with the marker that should have been fixed before it was released. in this case bolt stick, by chaneling air back it helps re-cock.

i had one on my old impulse. it is an almost necissary upgrade for most stock impulses.

The problem with stock impulses is that the solenoid chamber is connected directly to the valve chamber. When the valve opens, the pressure can drop too much in the solenoid chamber so the bolt won't be able to move. This causes the bolt to get stuck forward sometimes. The tapeworm is a flow restricting device that helps keep the pressure up in the solenoid chamber so the gun can operate. Other options are isolation mods, which seperate the solenoid chamber from the valve chamber. A lpr is one type of isolation, but there are others. Isolation mods work a little better than a tapeworm because they do not restrict air flow as much. Both types accomplish the same thing though, and both work well.

                Which LPR?

The jackhammer II from ANS works wonders on Impulses, great consistencey and steady flow, some sites that sell Imps new have options to add on the Jackhammer II to the gun when you buy it, otherwise I think they are around 85$.

microrocks are awesome. tapeworks work wonders too. you can set it up so that the tapeworm is connected (via hose) to the lpr

I am prety sure that SP is sending them in stock Imps now, so you may not need to buy one.

I've got like 5 laying around, so if you do need one, drop me a PM, and I'll hook you up way cheap.

                      wel actually

i have heard that micro rocks are not as good as a jackhammer. what i heard is that ans is decent on a cocker but totally awsome on an imp and a micro rock is totally awsome on a cocker but only decent on an imp. if you are going to get lpr on your impy i would suggest a New Designs Ultimate LPR Combo. New Designs internals are by far the best internals for any impulse.

Where do you get all these things? My bro is trying to upgrade his Impy, but he said he doesn't know which LPR to get, or where to get 'em. What do you guys recommend?

The reason everyone usually goes with the Jackhammer II is because it tops out at 220 psi, which is the technical limit of an Impulse 'noid. Most other LPRs can go a little higher, wich has the prospect of killing the solenoid.

Using a Jackhammer is a safety measure more than anything.

Typically, you'll want to run your LPR at a little over 200 psi if you're going for efficiency.

impulse uses the design that their has to be a ball there
in order to push the bolt back to re:cycle...
this is what i was told so im not really sure...
