The Rapide was not semi auto, it was double action.

No, its double action. Operates similar to sa, but you pull halfway back(trigger), it cocks, then the rest of the way fires it. Trust me, I was there when they came into production.

This is true, I remember these guns myself. The double action setup it has would make you think that its a true semi-auto.

Black Snappers (the new lenses are sooo much easier), Indian Springs 60-rnd loaders and squeegee, ViewLoader-II, TASO Nice Butt, and Lapco Grey Spirit. Heck, I still play in this stuff when the mood strikes (and the refs let me!)

that's cause it's BASED on a pellet gun design. A crossman/sheridan valve type.

and Tequila, that picture is PIMP. I miss playing like that.

                    Greetings,
Actually, the 707 was based on the 150/157 Crosman CO2 pellet pistols.
Here are a couple of shots of my gen 2 150 produced from 1957 to 1967 next to my 707.
From the bottom tube down they are identical internally and externally except for markings - I've had them both apart. The sights are even the same except for radius cut under them where they fit on the barrel.
The 5 different 150's were produced from 1954 until 1967.
This indicates that the 707s were produced BEFORE 1967.
Crosman seems to know nothing about them......but it's clearly Crosman.
                    Here you go:
