    neck shots

Im getting sick of neck shots. I think its about time i buy a neck protector because about 3 weeks ago i got hit point blank in the neck in a friendly fire incident(newbies+woodsball=stupid experiences) and jsut as it heals/scars over i get hit in the other side of the neck. Its almost perfectly symmetrical. Anyways share your horribly annoying neck shots. I think i've heard a bouple of people talking about loss of air/blacking out from trachea shots

He is on the side of me, and shoots me in the shoe. He yells, "You're hit!". I yell back, "Ok, I'm hit!" raise my gun and start to stand up. Half way up, he pops me right in the neck. Hit's a little mole thing on my neck, and it's really hurtin' whenever I mean my neck to the side.

Yeah... the last terrible set of neck shots i took was like 7 years ago when I was in USAF Tech school at Sheppard AFB TX.

Anyhow we had this low crawler get up in our brush covered side. he picked off the guy next to me and as I made a move to get to a perpendicular bunker he poped me 2 times within an inch of my adams apple on either side of my trachea. Since the shot was basicly within 15 feet the wind was knocked out of me and I was a bleeding mass gasping for air until the end of the game.

Explaining that away when I got back to base sucked...

Gaah ya.. They usually kind of kink up your neck..

To be honest i've kind of gotten used to getting hit in the neck.. I usually get hit somewhere in the neck atleast once while im paintballing.. Worst was probablly when I came up to bunker a guy he shot me in the neck in the process :S.. I still got him out though :P.. It was about an inch away from my windpipe.. But it didn't really do anything I just felt a little bit of wind nocked out of me.. But then I got hit in the EXACT same spot the last game of the day because I just sprinted up the left tape all the way to there 10 (we were playing noobs).. So I shot the kid out and another kid shot me so as I was walking off the kid I shot out shot me in the neck.. That basterd

Yeah I took 3 neck shots and 1 behind the ear this past weekend. 1 neck shot and the 1 behind the ear was almost point blank. My mistake of not checking behind a set of spools when I was on opposing teams side clearing them out from behind. But man it hurt...lol

Worst neck shot (and the only one so far i think) i've had was when i had poison ivy on my neck and got hit right on the poison ivy. It wasn't from close up but man it stung for a bit.

Another thing, i've heard from a lot of people that neck protectors don't really help, they say it still hurts but there's no mark. Anyone agree/disagree??

Disagree, but then I don't wear a paintball neck protector, mine is an Itech hockey one. I have been hit many times in the neck and have yet to have a welt or anything resembling a mark...of course I felt it but no pain happened. The paintball neoprene ones are useless all they do is take a little bit of the sting out of it.

Itech Site here I use the N7 neck protector...Sports Authority sell them if you can't find an Itech dealer near you.

yeah the only reason i am tinking about a neck protector is so the pb wont break my skin and leave any more scars. I dont care much about the pain of the hit but these latest ones leave some nasty scars. it sucks cause both hits evidently were on major parts of my neck muscle so it hurts to turn my neck. oh well. Its kind of ironic because my friend dave got shot the next game about 2 inches from his trachea when he bunkered someone

There ya go another thumbs up for something outside the industry that does a better job than a "paintball intended product". Think outside the box
