    Paintball on TV.

Ever wondered why there isnt much paintball on TV? Well, I was thinking about it at work today and a few thoughts popped into my head. My first thought, it kind of hurt my brain, was that Paintball might be hard to follow because it is such a fast paced game. Thought B consisted of Paintball's horrible reputation of "punks shooting up houses", this could be remedied by local governments putting up laws about the use of paintball MARKERS for vandalizing property out of specified areas, IE Fields. With the few paintball shows that have been on TV already, the footage wasnt the greatest. An announcer's voice dubbed over the game play would be excellent. A football game is long and drawn out because of the use of numerous time-outs and fouls. Why not attempt to re-format the game to take these things into consideration? Also, why not have a paintball insurance company's representative talk about how SAFE the sport really is. Americans are too soft, I am sick of seeing these big tough men who play football complain that paintball isnt a sport when FOOTBALL requires vast amounts of PADDING. A paintballer's attire generally consists of a) a Mask, b) a Jersey(no padding), C) pants(Yet again, no padding), and d) KNEE PADS. People do not realize that paintball is an organised sport, there is a set of rules in effect with people abiding by their every beck and call... Also, look at Kobe Bryant's situation... Does that give Basketball a bad reputation? No. Then why must some punkass little kid and his paintball gun give OUR sport a bad name? I think it is because most people are IGNORANT about paintball. They dont realize that it is as/more organized than most/all of the other publicized sports.

I am pretty sure that Michigan doesnt get OLN...If so, then my cable provider doesnt offer it... But, how well is it covered? Do they ever have a warning that use of a paintball marker without proper protection could be fatal? I am just wondering because I would love to see ESPN2 show NPPL,PSP, or X-ball....

Yes, but Football has been around for a long time... People automatically know the rules of football... But not many understand that Paintball is SAFE.

I enjoy the game, but don’t really enjoy watching it on TV in the current format. Only if I had some sort of interest (as in a friend playing, or a specific event) would I enjoy watching it (on TV)
Yeah, I can see your point of view from that aspect. But, since paintball RARELY is shown on TV... A show on ESPN would always be a special event.

NXL solves the tv problem. That's why Dick Clar prod. bought the NXL. Expect it on tv late 2005, early 2006.

kinda the first things i thought about when i read about the Xball format.

people tend to go for the 'state/city team' aspect of sports i've noticed.
and with xball, well, you have that, and its more of a 'game' that are mainstream(baseball, basketball, hockey, football)

xball just seems to be more of that type in a lot of ways.

personally i think xball will really, slowly, become the 'main stream' of paintball, maybe not the most PLAYED, but it'll eventually get the more footage as its more of the 'sport game' type as i said before, but this is just all my personal opinion so.

If you guys didn't realize FOX Sports Net is having a PAINTBALL SERIES

                      NPPL Super 7 World Series

It isn't going to be paintball included in a show but an actual paintball show. Ironic how Super 7 made national TV before Xball eh?
