    Paint ruining barrel

Has anybody else here ever had paint left in a barrel ruin it? I seem to have wrecked one of my cp's. I had paint in it, ran my squeegee through, put it away, and for got to do a more thorough cleaning later. when I had found it some time later (at least a week or so) it had like dried up in side. Some of it came out but some of it like took the finish off or something. You can't really feel it or anything but its deffinitely there permenately. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've only used it briefly since then. It's not one of the barrels I use often. From what I noticed it shot alright, chronoed alright. I was having a heck of a time with my paint that day though, and it shot okay with bad paint(some dimpled and crazy sized big ball). I'm not really saying that its totally wrecked or anything and unuseable, its just weird. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

That can be cleaned out. A mixture of Rubbing Alcohol and water. 50:50 will clean that waxy build up right out. Also washing under warm water and soap in the sink.... If you do make a Alcohol mix... Make sure you label the container you use for this mixture. You do not want it on your mask and such.

is your cp a chrome one?

chrome cp barrels tend to peel, cp is nice, if you sned your barrel in, they ll replace it w/e color and size

CP is great about replacing things. I've sent a few parts back to them that I have been unhappy with performance wise and they went above and beyond for me to straigten things out.

Just call em up and see if they will replace it if it bothers you that much.

thanks for the hints. Yes, mines a nickle cp. I've tried that stuff, alcohol, windex, along with some other stuff. I'm thinking its just unique to the nickle cp. I've never seen this in other barrels though. I'm just curious if others had this problem from what I see its related to that finish. I'm not going to go as far as to try and get it replaced though, stuff happens big deal and it still seemed to shoot fine.

it only happens w/ cp barrels

and so far, between me and my friends, all 3 of our cp 1 pieces have done this, i didnt take it as a big deal, my friend just wanted to get it replaced, so they kinda did.

and my other friend who currently owns one, you can kinda see its starting to peel.

you're a nice guy if you re not gonna go start trouble w/ the company, i respect that

if I really need to super clean mt barrels, I jsut run them through the dishwasher.(not the drying cycle) cleans em up perfect. even stains comes off. there is nothing in paintball paint that should be able to touch anodized aluminum. just needs to be cleaned more.
