it wasnt quite 500 rds for a thousand it cost about the same as a box of ball 9mm ammo $15 for 50 but was to expensive for the public so know they are only available to law enforcement but its no longer a special gun they make ammo and barrels designed for just about every weapon made most guns just require a different spring to handle the low power charge, which is just the primer with barely any smokeless powder. The mac 10s were out some time ago, and the way they designed it was ingenious if not quite economical. They used paintball shells, designed like real bullets. Gun powder fired a smaller caliber paintball at about 450 fps, but since it was smaller it hit with the same amount of energy as a 68 cal. 500 rounds cost upwards of a thousand bucks though, so they didnt exactly fare too well.

It's the locking block that cracks, I've never seen the slide crack.Originally posted by Konigballer
I've read that the military is starting not to like berettas because of frequent malfunctions and slide cracks in the field. These were known weaknesses but they really came to the forefront by the special forces guys experiences durring the operations in Afghanistan.

Creating your own scenario marker isn't too hard or expensive. Just takes time, patience, a little know-how and an open wallet. Here is my scenario minimag.

Has Maglite mount, AR15 handguard and handle, 4x15 scope, laser sight, red-dot, Harris bipod, picatinny rails, with warp, gas-thru stock, ULT'd Emag valve with intelliframe.

If you're in to the scenario scene and what a semi-realistic looking marker, then I would suggest the Tippmann A-5.
There are some wonderful conversations for this marker to make it look more realistic and it maintains it's functionality.
For examples check out OpsGear. If the hopper is a major sore point for you, they have a neat resolution. They take the top off a pod and put it on top of the A5 cyclone feed and it gives you right at 30-40 shots. Like this:
I wish scenario was more popular in my area b/c I'd be all over one of these converstions.

Not everything Mil spec is um good. And I have always held the 92F/M9 as a glaring example. (Oh and this goes for all you SOCOM droolers also)Originally posted by Remington
Well, what's wrong with it?
I'm sure you must have fired one considering your profession; isn't the 92F standard issue now?
