I have one too. Didnt work so great out of the box.

        Here's the story:

Bought the gun from DYE at world cup (orlando) a couple weeks ago. Dry fired some while i was there. . everything seemed to be ok.
Got it back to mobile, and went to shoot some paint. inline reg overpressurized the gun. blown tophat oring, and front wall oring. I replaced. Backed reg out, and tried again. better, but now there was horrible fsdo, (you had to walk the trigger over 12bps for 10+ shots before you would get one shot at 'normal' speed.) if the gun sat for more than one second, same thing.
LPR was acting weird, too. . The gun wouldnt cycle unlesst the lpr was turned all the way up.
Then the inline started to vent from the middle of the housing.

I sent it back to DYE.

They had it back to me in less than a week, and replaced the inline and LPR, programmed ABS, and replaced a couple more orings. I've put 1 hopper through it since (just got it back monday) MUCH better. Still a little bit inconsitent (+/- 12) but that can be explained by paint to barrel match, and brand new regs that need to be broken in. I'll let you know how everything goes for me in the long run, though. Finally, let me say that i was pleased with DYE's customer service in handeling the problem. I am not anticipating any more problems with the marker, but time will tell.

        Hope this helps,

        Carl

i forgot to mention i had one problem with mine. i used it all day then right at the end of the day i was on the field ran outta paint in my hopper reloaded with my pod and went and took a shot at a bunker to keep a guy pinned down it was super loud unlike it normally was so i called myself out to be safe because it was shooting really hard. i went to thwe chrono and it was shooting 426 fps! i turned it down then it wouldnt shoot so this kid was helping me out then when he went to shoot it it went full auto some how(its so fast emptyed my halo in like 5 seconds!) then we turned it on safe. so we couldnt figure it out and then it started to have a leak. so i went home pulled it apart read my manuel and it said to check the oring in the top hat and surley the o ring had popped outta its grrove. so i put it back in its groove lubed it all up gassed it up now it shoots fine!

            maglover,

what happened to yours is one of the same things that happened to mine. It sounds like your inline reg (either a hyper 1 or hyper 2 depending on when you got it) spiked on you and overpressurized the marker. when that pressure spikes, the first symptom is a couple REALLY loud, hot shots. Then, the top-hat oring blows out of its groove, resulting in either a full-auto effect, or a huge leak out the barrel. Mine overpressurized twice on me before the reg completely died. (My gun came with a hyper2) hopefully this new one is better than the old one. Dye had some problems with their regs. . . the were giving free replacements for the hyper 1's. apparently there were widespread problems with them. Now it looks like some of the hyper 2's are not too great. Im positive that 99% of the problems ive experienced with my gun resulted in the bad lpr and and bad inline reg. if (for some reason) that these new ones have problems, i'll probably replace the lpr with an AKA scm, and the hyper2 with a cp inline.

yeah thats basicly what mine did i just got mine so im pretty sure it has the hyper 2. but so far now its shooting great. i took it to my local shop after i fixed it and rechronoed it and everything and it was shhoting around +6 and -6 i think it may be cause its not broken in yet also. i have only had about 2600 shots through it.
but the money was worth it check out this sexy beast!

My buddy just bought a brand new red one and it didnt work right out of the box. They put the rong size o-ring on one of the bolt sections causing it not to fire properly with a hopper on it. I couldn't believe that, what horrible quality control.

Another problem they have is the factory lube they use on them is WAY too thick. I recommend taking the bolt out before even turning it on for the first time and wiping the whole bolt down and re-applying seomthing a little thinner like some matrix muck or shocker lube. Loctite Viper Lube is the bomb too, some very slick stuff.

Thats the experience that I have had with the Dye Matrices. Once you get em going, they are going good! Take out the trigger spring and watch her rip. Highest my buddy has gotten his too so far is 24bps, thats faaaaast!

The reg in your pic is the Hyper 1. It is designed after the Mac Dev Gladiator reg. The Hype 2 is designed after the AKA Sidewinder reg.

well, a little more rain on the dye parade. .

I got my gun back from them, and put a hopper through it. Everything seemed fine. Well, we loaded it up today, and it was on crack again. Apparently weird recharge problems. Didnt take the time to really look at it, just chunked it back in the bag. I'll let ya know when i get it sorted out.

So far, definitly not impressed with the gun. I still havent played a game with it, and its already been back to DYE once.

correct. THis is about the DYE LCD matrix. Its really looking like even the hyper 2 is junk. almost everyone had probs with the hyper 1, and looks like 2 is carrying the tradition. It also looks like the lpr leave alot to be desired.
