AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
wow im sure glad that the paintball community is mature enough to look at women respectably......wait a minute.....i just lied its a girl not meat you pock marked 50 and 12 year old dumpster divers.
I absolved you of this dirty allegation Miscue, but you're stuck with the others.. enjoy your daily "protein"
mag-hatter I'm glad to see everyone in the paintball community has a sense of humor too.. wait, you don't. chill. She's lying half naked with a paintball gun and a pussycat, and she's not using intellect to advertise the Mag. Claire is a well-respected member here and a clear icon of beauty for the company. She know we're just playing around. And I'm sure you never look at the women in Stuff, Maxim, etc, etc... And veryone is not either a kid or an old guy, Miscue and I are both in our 20's. Nice stereotype there bud.
Don't like the thread, take a walk... we're just having some fun and there are plenty of others for you to act pompous in.
Anyways, off the soapbox now. I think these ads do look cool, I would be interested in seeing the same idea but in a different setting, most of the Claire shots are with the white background and does look cool here but a little "sterile" (oh boy that could open up another can of worms) and adding color and attitude to the next ads would work well. Great stuff though. Doubt the HNAP photos are happening though, sorry guys

would it supprise you that i dont look at those magazines? it it human nature for males to drool over women but is it wrong to fight this natural occurance out of respect for the other sex? do other people see a well respected member of the paintball society or a "hottie" strutting her stuff to make a few $'s? answer that correctly and you get a cookie. you people should be ashamed you've worn yourselves accustomed to this kind of mentality that it is "ok" to use one's body for marketing reasons and dont you dare tell me that you dressed her up that way simply because it looks "neat" and gives the ULE body a better look. no one is looking at the ULE's.

I don't either.
As far as girls in general posing for pictures... they have a choice in how they present themselves. It is voluntary, not forced. If they are presented as a piece of meat, that was their choice to do so - I personally don't believe anyone would be so naive as to not realize what sort of reactions they would get... and claimed 'innocence' is horse puckey.
The person in a photo can choose to take a picture like this (although it probably won't be used to market something towards young males):
or can choose to take a picture like this (the type of picture that could be used to market something to young males):
I personally have no sympathy for those who choose to be in pictures more similar to the second one than the first.
I prefer the first picture over the second. I love Audrey.
I do agree with you Miscue, and do agree that I would find a girl like the first more attractive myself, but you can't deny that a large portion of America prefers the second and if that type of imagery is the most effective in marketing, companies should use it and it's people's freedom to prefer it. It is their choice to do so and guy's preference to prefer it which is why it is popular. And it is not just paintball, this is mild compared to other industries including the automobile industry and even your day-to-day tv. Reality shows sicken me these days, esp. the bachelor-like ones. That is our society today and I am sure Tom Kaye didn't tell Claire to do it or lose sponsorship, it most likely was her decision.
If maghatter had made his point by just saying he disagrees with the pics because it might give the wrong image of AGD and a more tasteful image should be used to make the company stand out as more noble and tasteful, I would have respected that whether I agreed with him or not. But his remarks were condescending, sterotypical, really didn't serve much purpose besides being an insult to us, and just makes him out to be a forum troll. Claire's pic hints on racey but is definitely not as tasteless as the other pics you see day-to-day. If you disagree, definitely voice your opinion you have as much right as everyone else here does, but try to aim it at the topic and not make it a cheap shot on the other people in the thread.
That's exactly the point... the second picture appeals to the masses - making it better for marketing. I think Clare's pics are tasteful and slightly racy... which made me somewhat confused when "meat" and that sort of thing came up. So my comments really had to do more with "meat" pictures in general, which I suppose was the issue that was brought up - although still not sure why.
Guys, the pic really isn't that racy. It's just made to appear that way. I am perfectly aware of what comes with posing for pictures of that nature and I have to say that it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I don't take anything that is said personally and I'm never offended.
