AGDs dreaded question - When (in regards to the Tac-One)

Ok... we now have an idea of how much and where - these always seem to be the easiest answered questions in regards to AGD products (sorry, its true, so true).

Dare I ask when - I'm very interested (though will note not buying until early next year, first quarter).

I'm hoping this is a bit quicker than the colored X-valve for instance, and quicker than the 4500 reg seats, and the X-Mag. (Sorry... why is it that we always remember the problems - and none of those have even effected me)

Sure I can tell you, according to what I believe to be true at this moment.

They are machining the bodies right now. There are only 50 for the first run with 50 more after that. I have been screwed before when the 50 guys on the forum that wanted them made a lot of noise and no one else came to the party (roller trigger). The machine shop said they would have them done next week. Then there is Thanksgiving and the week after they go to ano. The week after that we should assemble and ship. My best estimate at this time is 2nd week in dec.

No backorder list. We will announce on the forum and you can call.

I've always wondered this.... why does AGD always hype everything before they have enough to satisfy demand already on hand? I mean it's good that you have new products and such, but why flood the boards with news of stuff coming up? If everyone is anticipating the release of something then it makes it seem like it takes so much longer, or people will get tired of waiting and go another route.

Far as I can tell EVERY paintball marker company out there hypes the new model BEFORE you can get it. EVERY ONE OF THEM!

Here Tom tries to guage your interest before he sinks his money into it.

But they all do it. Where did you get the idea that this was the only one. Name me one that was in stock the first time it was publicly displayed. Nadda. None....

ok well maybe it's cause im on this site so much. but it seems that up to a year before stuff is available it is being dangled in front of the public. WDP usually has some ads out a few weeks in advance or it will be posted when their guns will be unveiled. And when they are unveiled they are available in quantities within a few weeks. on the other hand...xmag....

Marketing skills elude the folks at AGD..............
But, when thier stuff does come out, it is a great product. Except the Superbolt debacle.........

I need to qualify the question here.
First off let me say that many many delays created in AGD are created when whatever "did not meet our tolerances". Now that is what makes these such a great marker (or other product) when they do come out. Many companies do not do this. They give the tolerances to the source, and expect the source to be within those tolerances. AGD has shown that this is not always true.

Face this fact - paintball is not something done by mass manufacturing (few machines are made that are specific to manufacturing markers). In essensce everything is a custom bit of work at the machine shops. AGD has safeguarded us by checking tolerances on this custom work with an expertise that few of us possess.

Quality, at a reasonable price, takes time -I for one am willing to wait. IT does seem though, that AGD has had its share of bad luck in regards to getting things ready to ship. There are a lot of people involved, tolerances are tightly controlled, there are bound to be delays. Be thankful for those delays to an extent, they are ensuring that the product we receive is up to the standards we have come to expect.
