    Buying my first mag soon

Hey everyone. I've been reading a while, and I decided to post finally. I'll be buying my first non Spyder non Tippmann gun soon and I chose to get a Powerfeed automag. I'll be ordering within a week or so. I just wanted to know will I most likely chop paint constantly with a level 7. The fastest I've ever fired was with a double trigger and it was probably about 6bps in the middle of an adrenalin rush. Should chopping be something I worry about. If so I'll probably get the level 10 right away although I'm not sure I can afford it. Also I'm wondering about some future upgrades. I doubt I'll get the X-Valve any time soon. I don't have any need for a reactive trigger with the group of people I play with. I'm interested in the Y-grip though.

    THanks in advance.

Welcome to AO And welcome to the family.

Mags are imho the greatest markers out there, easily upgraded and dependable. If you have a fast loader that will get rid of most of your chops, if you get a level 10, that will get rid of the rest. You should be able to find a Level 10 mag for not to much on these forums. Good luck.

I found a black powerfeed hopper left mag on closeout for $229. So I'll be buying that. A Smart Parts All American 2001 Barrel for around $40, a 10inch Bottomline kit for around $30. I'll be running it on CO2, but it will be off a remote, so I hope Liquid CO2 won't be a problem. If it turns out ot be I'll just have to order an ACI Expansion Chamber and a Vertical Adapter plus another hose. I'm thinking about getting an Evolution Hopper but I want to see how much it chops first and I might just get the Level 10 before the hopper.

        buy used.

you can find better deals on AO for mags. all types of mags are sold in the B/S/T forum, and im sure you would be able to pick up a decent mag for a price much lower then what you would pay buying it new.

I was thinking about that, but I'd kind of like it to be brand new. This is my first big marker purchase.

get level 10 and a decent hopper, but the hopper should be first on your list especially if your current loader is not that fast.

Level 10 is very good though, try to save up. But you will be able to find a mag on the dealers/traders forum, you could maybe trade your tippman or spyder for something with the above included. Check it out!

Really it is ok to buy used with mags because they are so reliable. You could probably get that mag for half what you are paying there here in the FS forums. Also, don't spring for the egg until you feel like you are insanely fast, until then a 12 volt X board revvy should work fine, I even have one on my EMAG.

I'd go for the L10 if possible. Chops are not the only reason a mag breaks paint and the L10 fixes both of them.

I'm going to take a look at some of the mags in the f/s/t section. If I can find a completed mag classic cheaper then the TKO mag I'll probably go ahead and get that one.

I need to be able to use CO2. I go to school in Ruston, La. I can get HPa filled at the field I play at. I also play at home in Lake Charles, 200 miles away from school, I can't get HPa filled there, so I have to be able to use CO2. We probably shoot a case in a matter of day when I go home.
