    Help. I don't want a heavy marker...

    Hey

I have just started getting into paintball on a more serious level. Recently I was using a e99 (a good marker while I was playing rec ball).

I have just finished building mag. Its got retro vlave, lvl 10, emag body, J&J Full Tilt barrel, Dye frame, drop with asa and a 88/45 tank. It rips pretty fast considering its not an electric.

The only problem (besides the lack of trigger speed) is that its really heavy. I know the tank doesn't help much. I am getting rid of it (for more trigger speed) but want a light weight marker.

What should I get? I am thinking of a B2K gen 4 or a 2K3 impy (2 possible deals). I also like the look of the omen by evil.

Some one help a confussed 'baller out please

If you built that mag from scratch, those defentalyl arent the parts I would have used.
First of all, I would have gotten a ULE body, and Xvalve, an intelliframe or y grip, and I cant really argue with the tank because mags like more gas, but I think you would be safe with a 68/45 or a 72/45 tank..
Not to mention you can get your rail drilled out for reduced weight, dah de blah.
I'm assuming you were on a budget, though.
Impys are poo, and if you are going to get a bushmaster shoot for a b2k3.

or if u want a temparary gun thats pretty light (or so i would think) use either all ULE for a perm solution, or just use some extremely thin lexan thats made into a body.... im more or less suggesting ULE parts

Yeah, Im kinda on a budget. ULE parts were out of my price range considering a built the mag from a classic. Where as I can trade my mag for a bushy or impy and get alot of extra trigger speed. And I got the 88/45 because mags are gas hungry.

So there isn't a certain marker that is considerably light than the rest.

personman What is so 'poo' about the impy? I've only tested them but I thought they were pretty good.

The upgraded ones may be decent but here are a few reasons..
The stock trigger is absolute CRAP.. have you pulled this thing? Defentalyl need to upgrade it. The one I fired seemed to chop alot with the reloader, I dont know what was up. Smart parts has CRAPPY customer service, so unless you have a local tech, I wouldnt count on getting your gun fixed very fast if it breaks.
Well, its just stupid. Look at it.
You can get a b2k3 PDS new for 519.95 at paintball gear. A stock vision impulse costs 550.. you are paying 30 more bucks.. for a worse gun..
B2K3s COME souped up. You have to spend lots of time and money making an impulse DECENT

Im looking at a B2K Gen 4 fishbone milling black. Its got the icd tourny board and a couple of vapourwork's mods. Its upgraded abit, and also leaves room for me to customize it to.

Yeah, i was leaning to bushy's as oposed to impy's cos I understand them more.

There's nothing wrong with the Imp.

I've owned several myself, and I still have one here.

They are not too bad out of the box, but it takes a fair amount of work to make them uber super duper. It can be done however. Like anything else, it just depends on how much you want to spend.

I once met an old man at the race track who told me - "Racing is all about money. (rubbing his fingers together) How fast you wanna go?"

The same can very much be said of paintball - So, how fast you wanna go?

I guess thats true. So what would be the better marker to start with. I see that maxed out impy's go for $700 and higher, where as maxed out bushy's seem to be less. Whether thats because people prefer the name impy to bushy - i don't know.

I think it basically comes down to personal preference any more.

I've had both, and I always had trouble with the Bushmasters, mostly little nicky knack stuff like oring leaks and the like. Easy to fix, but irritating none the less.

Never had any trouble with the Imps.

Could just be my crappy luck (which is very bad).

I have not had a bushy for a year or so now though, so the new ones may be better about that stuff.

Mostly just comes down to what you like. Either one will do you proud.

                    Good luck.

speed's a nice thing to have but for some reason i can't shoot very slow with my b2k. i dunno what it is. the trigger is really lite and short and it bounces like a mofo sometimes. pain in the butt really when you'r low on paint. Amazing when i need it though!anyways im just mentioning that speed isnt everything.

The bushy is a very nice marker and after you get one look into any Vaporworks mods and you will be happy.

It means that if you have a pinto and have $100 for upgrades you can get just a little speed but if you had $100,000 that pinto could go 200mph.
The more money you have you can get better stuff.
