First I want to say that is was the most fun I have ever had playing paintball since I have started 3 years ago. I played at the Survival NY 5 man tournament this past saturday. If anyone on this forum was there I want to thank you guys for making it a great experience. I was on Team Hudson Valley Paintball B team (aka Husdon Valley Small). I also want to thank Paintball sports for hosting the games and Team Ground Zero for being great judges even though I did not like all of the calls
.
There were a few mishaps, like one guy shooting over 400 fps (his velocity screw was rusted and got stuck at the max). I went origonaly as a backup player but I got a chance to play in 4 of the 8 total games. The first game I played in was on the speedball feild, lets just say I got whooped on hard. I think we played against the team Minutemen. As soon as the go was called I ran for the right corner bunker, I had a great position and a good view of the feild. I fired off a few shots then my mag didn't recharge, ice from my CO2 tank had gotten into the valve (I ran the tank right on my gun just to see how it would work I switch to a remote after the game and it worked fine the rest of the day). So I just sat there trying to get it to work and/or to get bunkered. Well the bunkering part came fist, I have to say that it hurt like a #%#@ but I couldn't do anything else. I got nailed right in my knee cap and shin, I kind of walked with a limp the rest of the day. After I fixed my gun I headed off to the next feild with my team. This was the hyper ball feild, my personal favorite of the day. Again I took the right back bunker to try and give cover fire so my team could advance. As soon as I had the chance I advanced up the right side of the field and took up position along the tape. I held back three of the opposing teams players along the back left, middle and right for the entire 10 minutes from there. Either I held them so good they couldn't go anywhere or they just didn't feel like moving :). I hope it was the former
. Anyway neither team got a pull or even close to the flag. The game ended in a tie of one kill each. The next two games were not anything special except that we didn't even come close to winning. The last game was the absolute fasted I have ever played, I think it was Team Crazy Paint but I am not sure. All I know is that the game maybe lasted a minute. As soon as the go was called the rushed the feild and took us all out extremely quickely.
All things considered I think Team Hudson Valley's B team, Husdson Valley Small, did pretty well for it being our first tournament.
