IR3 meets Timmy :) Hot off the mill

Here is another thing that my friend just got done milling, we are going to use my timmy for the tests. We might do some mods to it, also there is rumor, that it might use a magnetic trigger return. It is not finished yet, since we want to see how well it works before we put time into finishing touches.

the frame looks great till you get to the trigger guard. to be perfectly honest, *** ugly. so i say work on that, and youll have a nice looking frame.

agreed... make it so it can accept the separate trigger guards made for the clamshell timmys

I agree about the trigger guard, it's the same ugly one that is on the classic grip. It also makes it harder to walk the trigger. Since I am already ripping the heck out of it have you though of moving the grip forward? That would place the front screw inside of the grip frame and make it harder to take on and off, but it would help with the fact that with the grip so near to the back of the gun Timmys feel so long. Just my $.02.

On a good note, it's a great concept. I have an IR3 and I love that style of a vertical grip. If you go into production with these I will definately be looking into it since I still have a classic grip.

i like the idea, now if you can just mill some of that junk off the back of the timmy (maybe make it look like the 2k2) i hate the boxy look of the classics.

yeah, perhaps moving it forward a little bit is a good idea. and the part about the front frame screw being harder to get at is no big deal. simply drill a whole at the bottom of the trigger guard so you can run the allen wrench straight in from the bottom like in the hyper frames.

on a side note, isn't this technically pattent infringement against WDP? Not like it matters to me, but it might to them. Same with cool hands logic frame...that is if they did indeed patent the trigger frame.

lookin good, keep up the good work

Whoa, dude, thats Awesome! Are you going to make a production run, or is this a one-time deal for yourself?

If thats jsut a prototype, I think you should have the grip farther forward (to where the trigger guard is setting right up against the reg). Makes for a tighter setup, aswell, the marker will look a little better.

nice but i have some suggestions.

i would move the grip foreward it seems to weird looking. i would also round the back of the frame (well most of the frame in general) so it can take snatch grips for gz's or clam shells (preferably gz's because i think the ones they got look better )
also like someone suggested when and if you re-do the trigger guard drill a hole for wrenches (although im used to that on my emag)

                        Looks good to me.

I would think moving the grip forward like the 2k4 Timmies would make the gun more comfortable. Looks great to me and keep up the good work.

Heh, I have more influence than you think My friend is the one who designed and milled it, he does take my input. That is one reason why he asked me to beta test it for him.
