    Finding out your ROF?

I have read threads where members have used a recording program that shows the sound waves for the recording, and is able to show how many are in a given second, thus showing the ROF of the marker they were shooting.

What program is this? And is it downloadable?

Just do it on the chrono next time you play

The main field I go to (Action Paintball) uses two big red chronos. I'm not sure of the name or type, but as far as I know it only measures fps, unless I need to ress the on button or hold it or something to turn it on another mode

You can get various programs to do it like soundforge, goldwave, ect. Do a search for sound editing software on google and find a free or shareware one. Goodluck!

I use goldwave,it's free and simple to use.Record a string, blow up the sound wave and count the shots between seconds.

That chrono should work to measure bps. Just shoot like you would to chrono over it, if you shoot more than I think its like 4bps it starts to measure bps. thats how I do mine.

I don't trust those "red chronos" - I think they give you a "feel good" BPS like the old Angels. You need something that can record a string and show you the results. There are a lot of people running around out there who think they can shoot XXBPS, who in fact ONLY managed to pull off a 2 shots in close enough succession, that HAD they been pulling the entire time would have equaled XXBPS.

I thought you knew! My stuff does bps over a 1 second sample, same thing as taking a 1 second snap-shot of a sound file and counting peaks. Also the only one I'm aware of where you can do this w/o firing. Although it's currently unavailable, I'm working on a version that will be.

I'm gonna pull a ~15 hour coding day today... and see if I can finish it and get it in your hands as soon as I can.

TO get a proper reading, you really need a statistical analysis. Average, standard deviation, variance, etc. for the time between shots over a given period of time.
