HALO update

FYI - I just got an email from Albert Schilling and this is what he said:

"Looks like our final mold is delayed for about a week,
so it looks like now we are going to be shipping out on the 17th."

So you will have to wait a bit longer for your HALO.

Nah.. gotta make sure it has plenty-o-mettalic parts spinning at high speeds each tiem a ball is fed.. so on each triiger pull you get a nice, 120db "CHINK!"

Are these things goign to be able to be intellifed easily? I know they can somehow, but is the electronics hard to get to through all that stuff?

ok if you intelliefeed a halo it ruins the whole point. If a halo can feed at 18bps without itellifeed now why the

intelifeed will make the halo more effective. the halo is restricted from it's full potnetioal because it doesnt' know when the gun has fired untill LONG after the fact. if it could be given advance notice, you'd be able to get 20-30bps from it instead of 18.

can you even shoot 18bps? probalby not. i guess it would help for that initial shot when it's not moving, but after that, kinda pointless. maybe i'm dumb. i dont' know.

I can pull more than 12. I'm sure some are faster than me. and I get 12 under normal conditions, not the "in game adrenalin rush" And there are ways to make the trigger see more trigger events han you're actually physically pulling... something on the order of a set of ridges inside your glove that you drag across the trigger.

Remember, there was a time when nobody believed you could shoot 10bps. 20bps will be a reality....

dude i mean you dont need an intellifeed with a halo because you dont have any hat can outshoot 18bps at this moment. any electro guns have bps settings so they can only reach so high a rate of fire. and any mechanical gun most likely can not reach rates above 13-18 bps because of the operator. the only gun that could ever shoot in the 20-30 bps range is an agd gun with the retro on it. and still i think you are limited by the operator.

Tee hee hee, i wouldn't put 20bps past a cocker.. or even 25. given the right regs, and durable enough rams.... but that's a project on the side ;-) we'll let AGD own that for the time being. You do have a point though. The angel dies at 15, and most of hte other guns are set to a max of 13.. but that, for the most part is a software thing. give it a year or two. I expect rof's to grow more.

remember that the halo can only achive 18 bps on a power feed gun.

on a vert feed it is around 13-14

that is because of the small number of balls in the stack. if it were to be hooked up to an intelifeed, a vert feed gun could probably get up to 18 bps.

Also keep in mind....

There's regulator recharge time. You can only pull air back into the regulator to equalize pressure so fast.

In any case, you won't break 18 bps on a gravity feed. Warp feed, as fast as that can force the balls into the chamber. The WF does improve the amount of time it takes the ball to move from rest just outside the chamber to into the chamber, but it's not a miracle worker.

Remember, every shot, all of the balls go back to stationary while the ball in the chamber is fired.

Again, this is the reason for an RT type regulator. Higher head pressures = faster recharge rates. As it stands the RT will recharge enough air to shoot a ball at full velocity in .026 secconds.

You can feed balls at much more than 18bps. It's a matter of ramping up to speed.

Does it really matter how much noise it will make? I mean, when I pull the trigger I tend to hear something a bit louder than my revy, or is everyone else playing with a silencer?
