Hey guys,
I just read the thread about pros and drop forwards, and makes me wonder on another thing. When I watch the pros on videos, and in magazine and online pics, I noticed majority of them use 14's. Back players use 16's. Im not saying this is a fact, but its what I noticed when paying attention to barrel length.
Why do they prefer these lengths? My local store owners said because on the Hyperball field, you can wedge it between the pipes or in the pipe grooves and reveal less target to the opposong team. But then why do even front players used 14.
Hasnt it been proven that a 10" 2 piece barrel will shoot the same as a 16"? Even Dave Youngblood in one of the recent APG magazines admitted that "there is no actual proof that a 14 or 16 will shoot better than a 12, but I prefer the 14 because of its tip being slightly longer than the stainless section" (interview was something similar to this).
Is the reason for the 14 and 16's just for looks (I even think that the 14 Boomy on my Micromag looks a tad bit long)?
Oh my...
