I just picked up some "Marine Corrosion Control and Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease" at Home Depot. The can says that it is "Recommended for corrosive marine applications- trailer wheel bearings, water pumps, hinges, pins, winches."
It also has some other info on it:
N.L.G.I. #2(NLGI GC-LB) (ASTM D-4950)
BASE TYPE: Calcium sulfonate complex
It was a choice to get the marine grease a silicone grease or a white grease. Did I make the right choice? Is this going to mess up my marked if I use it on it? What the heck does "N.L.G.I. #2(NLGI GC-LB) (ASTM D-4950)" mean?
Is there another type of grease that would be better?
