    Sidewinder question

I am working on a project, and need to know what the range a sidewinder can output?

ok this is what I plan on doing-

In AFJROTC we are studied basic flight. And have to build a small airfoil. And we have also been challenged to build a small wind tunnel for testing. Last years class tried it with a fan, and a cardboard box. But the fan ddint supply enough air to do anything.

My idea is to use my nitro tank , and my sidewinder. Have the tank connected to the winder like normal. Than connect the winder to an on/off asa. Going to hose , which connects to a threaded brass fitting. This connected to a funnel , which will spread the air out more. Then connnect the funnel to big coffe cans.

    range

It should work from 0 psi almost up to input pressure.

So if you put in 800 psi then you can get out 0 psi or up to 800 psi.

The Sidewinder is adjustable 0-800 psi, but you might have some other issues to deal with.

One, an HPA tank might not have the capacity you need.

Two, you may need not just a funnel, but some sort of cone inserted into the airstream at the funnel to shape the airflow. Think of the nose-cones on early fighter jets (like the Mig 21).

The airfoil demonstrations I have seen all used fans. I would say that a larger/more powerful fan would be an easy and cheap solution. Also, pay close attention to ducting so that air does not escape, thereby lowering the efficiency of the setup. Consider a plexiglass/wood enclosure.

        Use a fan.

Can anyone say scuba tank, you'll probably need the extra capacity. Then you should set up some sort of design to distribute the air flow through your chamber.
