    Help!

I'm going to buy either a Cocker or a Mag really soon(after X-Mas soon). I need you guys(more experienced) to help me out with a few pros and cons of each. I've shot mags, I like them. I've shot cockers, I like them. I can get a Mag with 1 star valve gas-thru grip,p/f,dye stickies,Warped drop, and DYE .45 frame, and new blue powder coat for $300(new) at my local shop.....or a Cocker with reg. and bottomline for $324(new).

I know the price is an issue and the Cocker is more with just the stock material and timing Cockers are a pain...but I'd like to hear from you AGD guys and gals on why I should buy a Mag?

    Mag Pros:
    +Easy to maintain.
    +It's small.
    +Nice feel to the trigger.
    +Durable.
+You only need one allen wrench size to break it down completely.

    Mag Cons:
+You have to get used to the trigger.
+Runs poorly on co2(unless hooked up right).

    Cocker Pros:
    +Looks good.
    +Nice trigger.
    +Runs good on co2
+Backblock is cool for a while.
    +Fun to customize.

    Cocker Cons:
    +Unreliable unless setup good.
    +Timing it is a *****.
    +Damn hard to fix.
    +Expensive to upgrade.
    +Backblock gets annoying.

I guess mags are great guns for a cheaper price than the cocker cause with cocker you are paying some more $$ for the looks.

"I can get a Mag with 1 star valve gas-thru grip,p/f,dye stickies,Warped drop, and DYE .45 frame, and new blue powder coat for $300(Used) at my local shop"

The backblock on the cocker was actually one of the reasons I was going to buy one. But being a front player, I felt that the Mag met up to my expectations as being small enough to tuck in tight, and yet shoot fast enough for front fights, and is easy to snapshoot with.

Also about AGD's custom service, I've heard great things, and seeing Tom come and post and mingle with his customers is great to know that he can/will do anything to help and please his customers. Especially the two color fade warps, I was very surprised to see a poster request this and Tom had it done in almost no time. That's what you call customer service.

The only way for me to get a Cocker fixed is to drive an hour to have an airsmith that is properly qualified in 'Cockers to help fix my problem. I've seen many cockers go down during open field days. Our middle player has a cocker, and I don't think he's played a full scrimmage against our other homefield team without borrowing our back players Mag(he uses a Shocker normally).

Thanks for the help guys, I think AGD has a new Mag owner in a few weeks =). Tom if you read this, I'd appreciate it if you would pm/e-mail me a place where I could get my mag sent in and checked over?

BTW: Do warps fit regular mags as well?

Yes, WARPs will fit a standard mag out of the box. WARPs can also be adapted to nearly every gun with the universal adapter kit.

Yep when you smack yourself in the goggles with it :)

I'm just buying my first Autococker for Xmas. I'm back on my 'buy one of everygun' addiction. I honestly can't stop myself... :) Some day I'll take some pics of ALL my guns for you guys.

From PBC, 12-8-01 @ 6:20pm regarding a PM asking me to trade on of my guns for video games

rus, are you some kind of homophob or something? I just figured that someone would be nice enough to trade with my offer, and hell considering you have 4 guns I thought you could spare. But I guess I'll use Team UNV US's captins Cocker for the tourney....thanks anyways.
You claim your gun was stolen, and you need a gun for an upcoming tourney. Post something on the classifieds, maybe someone can work out a trade with you. If I was looking for a gun, I would post there and not just randomly PM people asking for trades.

Now, 'Cockers aren't hard to time. It just takes an understanding of how the gun functions and some mechanical aptitude, along with common sense. (that's a lot to ask of some, though )

Mag or 'Cocker, you can't go wrong with either one. You can get some sweat deals on used mags, though.
