ACE testing at ccp with Tom Kaye

I would just like to give you guys a report of the testing of the Modular emag with ACE.

I met up with Tom at Country Club Paintball. I started by using the ACE with a 12-volt rev. I played one game in e-mode. No chops at all.
The next game I played with my rev turned off. Once again no chops but is was very annoying shooting 4 balls then having to shake the gun. I played most of the night with the rev off. The gun would just not shoot with out a ball in the breach.
Close to the end of the night I got the nod from Tom to turn the rev on and let her rip. THE GUN WOULD NOT CHOP!

We did have a few problems though. One being we used the wrong bolt in the modular emag. The modular emag bolt has a bigger outer diameter bolt than the regular mag. it seams that Tom in his rush to get to CCP grabbed a regular bolt so the gun had a lot of blow back the whole night. The blowback made the balls feed slower which made it soot a lot slower. We also went through a few under charged batteries.

All in all the modular body with ACE is an incredible gun. All you guys that are waiting for it, it will be well worth the wait. Trust me

Yea, we had one part break completely, it was the Angel detent! LOL. Got to work on a better detent, everyone says that they don't work that well. Good thing I shot the gun for the last game and thought it was really slow. The right bolt diameter makes all the difference. We were using two tone orange/white RPS with no problems.

what about a ball detent like the micro mags, they never jam. I have had the cocker ball detents jam and it totally suck.

AGD, Why did you decide to use a different size bolt in the extreme? I thought they would be interchangable.

A little curious about that too. I'm about to buy a superbolt and the extreem upgrade when they come out. Are they going to work together or do I need to hold off on the bolt?

Regular mag bolts have to be small enough to fit inside the smallest barrel so we make them .685. The Extreme has a .700 breach so we make the bolt .698. This greatly reduces blowback and increases efficiency.

So I guess I should hold off then. Good to know. I assume the upgrade comes with the appropriate bolt then?

Can we have a test where we purposely smear paint over the ACE and then shoot? Just for fun? Maybe then whipe the paint off and see if the eye still works.

Taking mags apart is fun, its even more fun when you don't know what you're doing

                  .

does the emag extreme use the same bolt spring? could it be made so the only difference is the delrin sleeve? then people could just but a new sleeve

All you need is a new sleeve to make it an Extreme bolt and the eye still works with some paint on it.
