      heh, taken from SP's site:

"After many successful years of competition with using other sponsors gear, the guys from San Diego decided that they needed equipment that was as advanced as their playing ability. In the end they chose Smart Parts for the performance and durability of the Shocker, the consistency of the Max-Flo, and the sheer versatility of the Freak barrel system"
Shoot it like you stole it!

I posted a thread when PGI ran the ad on their own website it didn't get deleted but then why should it. But as only one person so far in this thread has noted they are claiming that Dynasty won using Smart Parts goods...sorry not even slightly close. The sarcasm of the rest of the ad is clever and very much tongue in cheek and has gotten people talking about Smart Parts, which regardless of your postion on their actions is always positive advertising, but down right lies isn't the way forward..re Dynasty not the other stuff, as that still is to be proved in court despite what people say online.
I have used Smart Parts goods and to be honest they are ok. I do have issues with the materials they use from a durabilty point of view and quality control plus I seriously can't understand the idea of buying one of their markers and then paying lots of money to get it to work properly but that is another arguement.

Prairie: great ad! nice shirt! Any chance there will be a shirt with the slogan on it?

Re: the ad - you know, it is humorous though not as clever as I'm sure the Gardners think it is.

In the end they chose Smart Parts for the performance and durability of the Shocker, the consistency of the Max-Flo, and the sheer versatility of the Freak barrel system
To say nothing of the exorbitant amount of cash SP threw at them, which, you can bet your life on, was the deciding factor. Well, hopefully, Dynasty will place low in some of this year's tournaments. It'd be a nice, and well-deserved black eye for SP. Not that I have anything against Dynasty, but it'd be good for paintball if it happened.

One thing I know SP doesn't have a patent on is customer service. A couple years ago I picked up a Shocker sport with standard feed. I had used an AA on my mag and enjoyed that and wanted to move up to an electro. Well, the first time I took it out on the field, the Shocker double fed on the first shot. I finally noticed it was happening only when I was pointing the barrel down. A quick examination revealed there was no detent system in the gun. The ball would roll down the breech until it went into the barrel. When I got home I emailed SP tech support and asked if there was some detent system I could buy or would they machine one in or what? The response I got was "Make sure it is not an issue with your hopper of elbow. You should probably also consider getting a Smart Parts Freak barrel system which will allow you to match your barrel to the paint."

That was it. No, "if you have any other problems, don't hesitate to e-mail or call us back." No really helpful suggestions. No indications I even mattered as a customer. Just "plop down even more of your money on us." I actually wondered if I had sent the e-mail to the sales department instead of tech support. A quick check of the sent box revealed I hadn't. I've long since sold that marker and gone back to my mag. That was even before these lawsuits.

One thing's for certain with this ad, it sure as hell won't win me back as a customer. I'm sure it'll have the same effect on others. My hope is someone will trot this out when they lose their suit in court, which I guarantee they will if any company stands up to them for that long.

How much does it cost to run an ad in those magazines? Take up a collection and run an anti-SP ad like the public service announcements or the ads in the newspaper that were "paid for by the friends of such-and-such cause". That would do more good for informing the uninformed than a boycott by folks who probably own at least one SP item already.

lol that ad was hilarious, i saw it in PGI magazine, but it may have been elsewhere. i think its kinda stupid of them bringing that up whereever they go ... considering that there are many people who hate them because of their patents, i dont see how claiming they have a patent on winning can help them.

Ohh, i also liked how they had Dynasty in there, considering that they listed Dynasty as 2k3 world champs, and made it seem like Dynasty was one of their teams at the time ... considering that during the whole 2k3 year Dynasty was sponsored by WDP and didnt shoot SP guns

Let them know how we feel.......

I liked this idea so much I copy & pasted this from another forum:

This is something that paintballers all over should do if they are fed up with SmartParts business tactics. I know I am, and after reading so much in so many forums there seems to be a very strong undercurrent that is looking for a way for paintballers everywhere to make a strong statement.
Boycotts are fine but ineffective without organization.
I personally don't have any issues with the guys...other than all the talk about their bending of the rules (like most tourney teams).
Booing the Smart Parts teams during play, as they walk in, as they leave, any time they show their faces, would leave an impression on everyone involved with SmartParts. This wouldn't take organization, all it would take is spreading the word and taking action during the events.
Spreading the word to all the forums you visit and starting the booing at the events would be all it would take. This would be immediate feedback from the rest of paintball and once it gets started it's hard to tell how fast and loud it could grow.....who knows? Could this be a distraction? I hope so.
Let these guys suffer for dealing with the devil, they're getting paid handsomely for it. Lets see if it's worth it to them to play with the Gardener boys.

If you can read this, thank a teacher.

                            somthing else funny about sp

i have one of the sp catalogs you get when you go to there website and order it(its free)and on one of the pages they show there teams...i went threw and counted and out of the guns i could determine what they were i got 3 impulses and 11 other(non sp) guns. doesn't that tell you something when a company is paying people to use there products and the people pick other products??

                            just thought it was funny...
