I hit up PBX Battlezone today. Was a 1 hour 15 min drive down from Northern New Jersey and I was told that it took about the same time to get there from NYC. Was a great day.
I was thoroughly impressed with the field, equipment and most of all the people. Right off the bat, my new e-mag had problems. I played in Manual mode for a few games then headed off the field. Luckily for me Tuna was right there and fixed it in no time. (though he and Dayspring really hate micro-emags) A lot of people from AO showed up and we had a lot of good games. I didn't get any pictures because I was too busy having a good time
, but there were photographers there and a film crew, so I'm sure that those guys will send the footage around sooner or later.
Fields were well constructed. Netting, ceiling to floor, good durable carpetting, deadzones that you CAN'T get shot in. What was the most impressive to me were the refs. I mean they were into making sure everyone was safe and happy. Every 2 games they cleared the field with broom thingys (dunno what to call them) and cleaned the bunkers off with spray and towels. The field played at the end of the session as well as it did 10 minutes into the beginning. The refs were helpful and mindful of safety. With the exception of the one little kid walking into the loading area with out a condom on several times (was always the same kid...), I felt absolutely safe whereever I was in the facility (fields, chrono, behind netting, inside loading area.
Overall, very impressed and very mag friendly
. You guys will definately be seeing more of me, except with my OWN paint. (had 8000rnds sitting next to my computer, and didn't bring it because today was FPO, though everything was very reasonably priced)
However, I have one major complaint. YOU NEED SIGNS OUTSIDE! Maybe one outfront on Rt. 37 and definately one above your doors with red curtains. If Dayspring hadn't have told me to look for red curtains I would have never found you. Thanks, Tuna, Nick, Mel and Suede (I can't possibly list everyone) Good Job guys and good luck with the field.
Edit: Another thing, sliding, jesus... you can slide a good 10 feet into bunkers. Was a lot of fun, but slightly unexpected, heh.
