Why aren't there paintball gun straps?

I've found myself having to lay my gun down somewhere before/after games because I needed both hands for something... can think of few other situations where a strap or something along those lines would have been handy...

    Why not?

hey thats an idea. while they re at it they could make it where I could finally mount my bayonet without using duct tape. OK well I think the strap idea would work any way.

If you want a bayonett then just buy an airsoft gun!

Actually I have seen them before, browsing through masses and masses of paintball gear. They are pretty much generic nylon straps, or something of that sort.

Some Tippmans come with one already on there, with strap holes and everything.

Personally, I don't use them because:
            1. I don't trust some generic marker strap holding my ~$1300 dark angel setup.
            2. It could get in the way, or could snag on something, in some cases (during or before/after games)

It should be no big deal to adapt a normal rifle/shotgun sling to work with a paintball marker. Go to your local sporting goods store and look at the available slings, there are many styles out there. Even Wal-Mart probably carries slings for cheap, should be under $20.

The tippmann Pro/carbine have them on when you buy them I didn't like it on there it tended to get in the way when trying to shoot and a couple of times it got hooked on things like branches and when I wanted to move the gun didn't, so I was already five steps outside my cover before I realized what happened. I will give tippmann credit thier markers are built like tanks they are tough as hell and the sucker still works and has always worked.

Couldn't you just set the marker down for a second to do what ever it is you have to do.

My dad and I are in the process of figuring out how to attach a tactical shotgun sling to my e-mag. The problem is finding the proper attachment points on the gun, and/or making them. My dad is a self proclaimed gunsmith (he is really darn good with guns new and old) and we are trying to get it worked out. I will post pics as soon as we figure something out.

                    im with you miscue

i agree...having to walk out towards the field with your mask on is kind of a drag, especially if your equipment is WAY away from the field...

i havent gotten the hang of putting my mask on with my left hand yet either...

i did have a shoulder stock on my mag, put a quick disconnect key ring on the "T" end, looped a strap around my shoulder and attached the other end of the quick disconnect key ring to the strap...this way, i could quick disconnect my mag when i was in the staging area, and let it hang before the games...

BUT, i dont have a stock anymore....

HEY! how about a little metal "loop" that connects to the field strip screw (maybe a longer field strip screw is needed, too), that you can hook a D-ring up to...the D ring (or something like that) can attach to your belt or shoulder strap/etc...all that is left on your mag is this little "loop"...

dont flame me TOO much, its 6:45 and i just thought of it!

                      Alf,

Thats kind of how my dad and I were looking at it! The problem is, with my gun (E-Mag w/warp feed) there is nothing to really "hook" a D ring too. So we are trying to figure out what else we could do. My dad was thinking maybe use a pipe clamp (sounds ugly but hear me out) which he would tac-weld a D ring too and slide it around the front body of the emag (right before the battery) and then use the sight rail on the back, drill a small hole through the sight rail and somehow affixe a screw or something to hold another D ring. That back part is what we cant figure out.

They make the pipe clamps in black, and they dont look too bad cause I have a black body on my emag.

                        why no sling

cause newbies always sling them over thier backs and then the hopper pops open and they loose all thier 200 rnds they got for the day =P

                          carabiner (sp?)

I have an old sling and a big caribiner used for mountain climbing. I just put the safety on and clip the caribiner to the trigger guard...

Wouldn't Guitar Straps work just as well. There are lots of them out there. Different designs and art I suppose. They maybe what your looking for to hold up your priceless marker. I think they might be kinda expensive.
Anyone with a guitar should be able to slap one on their mag in a hurry.

Um - there are people that make them - and you can make your own for a few bucks of nylong strap and snap peices. Generally they are used by the senerio game crowd - esp remote runners.

Personally I lay my gun down so I dont have to lug it everywhere...
