Hehe... You know its too fast when this happens...

So Im working on my almost done RT... Just going through the final stages of testing...

When all of the sudden the L10 starts hissing...

    Uh oh...

    So I opened her up...

I found out that I had SHATTERED the midweight LX spring...

The thing fractured 2 coils from the tip of the bolt...

    More to come...

I was out with Z-man when his spring broke. The funny thing is that the gun would still fire, though only once out of every 5 pulls or so. Amazing.

Unfortunately the spring that broke was being fired indoors in the comfort of my own home at 74 degrees...

Is it one of the new red springs or an old cut one? Either way they can and do occasionally break after a while. I've broken one during a practice and I never even knew it. The gun fired great all day. I try and keep a few extra on hand.

Broken one at the first day of NPPL NJ, didnt even know. That night I was just oiling the gun for the next day and put my finger in the breech...and it hurt! Heh, good stuff, happens occasionally...well..almost never.

The mid-size springs always break. That's what happens when you cut a spring...

I was expecting to open this and see pic of a mag with paint dripping everywhere from massive chopping from a non LX'd valve trying to feed 40+ bps or a video of a marker shooting so fast you see the gauge needle of a large tank go to 0 from full in a few seconds.

Either way, yeah, that's WAY to fast. How fast were you trying to get it?

crazy thing was that mine was the small spring with the proper end rings not that cut one. I was very impressed that the gun kept running.. only sorta. Guess that is what happens when you have been recycling lvl 7 springs since 1998...
