Cool drop forward I built

A buddy has a Sov1 that he's a theme gun with. Soon it will be anodized British racing green and have a pair of British flag grips from Frymarker...but for now, a Jag hood ornament for the drop. The bottom is dovetailed for the CP on/off and a set screw holds it on, just like normal drops. Sorry for the horrid pics! I'll get some more later.

My buddy, Jon, bought the hood ornament off of Ebay and had me hack it up. Since they are cast aluminum, I don't know how sturdy it will be though. It was a complete pain to hold in the mill but it came out pretty well. Count on about $30 to machine another one if you send me the parts.

Dude, that completely rocks. Even better is the whole Brit theme, with the BRG and flags.

However, the ornament isn't even cast aluminum- it's "pot metal", meaning it has a lot of zinc, tin and probably copper. It's definitely not going to be as strong as cast aluminum, and nowhere near as strong as billet.

Now, you've got some extra bulk there, so it ought to be okay, just tell the owner to be careful when he's diving into bunkers.

Some CNC shop definitely needs to tool up some of those in billet...

I like it except it's facing the wrong way, it would be nice if it could face toward your opponent. Otherwise that is really neat!

Ya can't mango. The head of the Cat would end up being milled away and be leaning downward. Note the Dove tail he had to add to the base to lock it into the ASA?

Now if you recast it with some kinda block of extra meat up there on that head maybe you could.

But taking a stock Jaguar emblem and doing it, then what Brad did, was the only way you could do it.

Pretty cool idea.I too would like it more if it was possible to face forward,but cool none the less.
