Tom if you really want to build an Ultra Light Weight Electronic Marker, check this!

If you want to build an uber light X-Mag Tom, why not use this to power it. Link!

I read about this in one of my trade publications. This could really be revolutionary! Here are some specs!

This is a battery on a sheet of paper.

      quite sexy.

i think this a pretty cool idea, not sure about the specs on em, but if they produce enough power to run an emag, then hoot hoot.

1.5 volts per battery...didn't see size specs, but I'm sure they're awfully damned light. Stick a few dozen into a hollow grip, and you could power your gun, your hopper, your radio, your mask, your RC paintmine, your car... Well, maybe not the car

i dont think that they would hold much juice. you'd have to have a lot of those to power an emag! lol

Those batteries have very high internal resistance. And low capacity. High internal resistance means when you fire the gun, the voltage drop will be terriably high. And... they're not rechargable.

We did a lot of research when trying to figure out what would make a spyder fast. The solinoid on the spyder is only 1ohm, so it sucks a LOT of amps at a given voltage.

Something you might considder checking out are LiPoly batterys. They are very high energy density. But, there's a limited amp draw you can take from them before they.. well.. blow up like little baloons. (litterally) And charging them is a pain in the butt. If you charge them in packs one battery will tend to take more of the charge, and they are really sensitive to both overcharging and undecharging.

Oh yea, you can fold, spindle, and mutilate LiPoly cells. :-)

You would need literally 242 of these batteries to make a emag work as it currently setup. Each cell is 1.5V @30mA
you need 16.8V @ 650ma. 650mA\30mA = 22 batteries in parellel for every 1.5v. 16.8v\1.5v = 11 groups of 22 = 242 batteries. This is the same reason you cant start a car with two 9Vs in series. Math sucks don't it, but we can still dream.

                        1 mA

Thats not gonna cut it... The Emag needs 8 AMPS at its peak...

I guess if you wanna put 8000 of these things together it would work.

                        15 Mah...

I dont think this thing would even move the solnoid once...

One CELL in the 14 cell e-MAG BATT puts out over 650 MAH

Do you know what a stock spyder weighs? Something around 1.5lbs....

I heard that the RC guys were having good success with those batteries. I seem to remember something like 5c draw rates. It was at least 2c. It seems like they would work well for an eMag. If you can figure out how to properly charge them.
