K2 buys Brass Eagle and JT

    Splat magazine, Feb/Mar issue 2004:

"K2 Buys JT-- K2, one of the world leaders in extreme sports manufacturing has recently announced that they and Brass Eagle have reached an agreement in which Brass Eagle will become a wholly owned subsidiary of K2."

Anyone else see this? I'm not sure what exactly to think... especially considering this is the magazine that reccommended "Hobbes" (Hoppes) gun oil.

At least K2 makes pretty decent equipment. We can only hope that rubs off on BE.

Brass Eagle became part of K2 Sports in mid-December of last year. Here is the news release from K2 about it.

Awww...K2? Seriously, if we're going to be affiliated with skiing, at least give us Dynastar! They've got more pop in their core, so you really just need to lay your hip into the hill and bam! you're at the next gate!

                  K2....grumble grumble.....grumbly grumble....need dynastar.....grumble.

Wow, is it really that old? I'm definately not subscribing to this magazine then...

But it does make me feel better that other people didn't know about it, I had figured I would have known about something this big (heck, I remember when the original superbolts came out...waaaaaay before level 10 and everybody thought it was the greatest thing to happen to mags...or at least until Load's harpooned his cat )

Tyrion2323 Dynastar may be better (I wouldn't really know as I don't ski much) but you gotta admit pretty much anyone has to have higher quality control standards than Brass Eagle (except *cough* 32degreesandSystemX *cough*)
