      I voted for over 1000$
Not that I can honestly justify the expense, but I have well over that in any one of my markers and equipment.
I certainly have spent money in worse ways , and had nothing to show for it when it was over.....ever been to a nude lounge?

I'm DEFINITELY spending too much (rough prices of what I got each thing for):

        Shocktech Intimidator (with extras) 1400
        Shocktech Drop/ASA 40
        Barrels 300

        Empire Intimidator 1450
        Check-it Unimount 40
        Empire 8-piece 200
        HALO B w/ ripdrive 150
        68/45 X-fire w/cover 160

        Alias Intimidator 1300
        Check-it Unimout 40
        Scepter 3-insert 140
        HALO B 110
        68/45 N.duck w/cover 220

        Pumpmag plus extras 325
        _________________________
        $5875 (rougly) in guns/tanks/hoppers/barrels alone

        Now I figure in:
        C4 Pants 115
        (2) '03 Core Jerseys 80
        '03 Hybrid Pants 80
        '03 Core Elbow pads 35
        '03 Core Gloves 25
        (30+) Pods 50
        Redz 4.3 pack w/belt 80
        '03 DYE ATCs 70
        Dye Pod Bag 20
        Profiler 80
        Proteus 50
        _________________________
+ $680+ in extras excluding tools and o-rings and such

        Comes out to:
        $6560 (roughly)

The spending spree will soon stop though since these are what I consider left to buy:
        Dye Navigator Bag 150
        2 Technatriggers 140
        Various barrel tips 60
        **Empire upgrade for HALO ??
        **(3) redz gun bags 70
        **(2) Dye barrel backs 80-240
        _________________________
$350 (items in asterisks probably wont be purchased)

So my grand total will come out to $6910+/-... and yes, all of my guns will be on indefinite sale.

(NOTE: I didn't make this post to brag, I just never fully realized how much I have spent until now)

I have about 2000 into my primary setup. An XMag and accessories. Worth every penny too.

I would say 3.5 grand is too much, if I had a job. But seeing as how I don't, I just try not to keep count and put pretty much every penny I can scrape together towards paintball...right now it has netted me:

Unmilled, blind, Nelson board DD Viking #VK00582 w/ MAC 'noid and blade trigger, old style Stickies and a Mac Dev (new style) Max Attack 68/45 w/ on/off adapter and standardized fill nipple, generic drop, X board revvie, 14" Javelin and a 12" .695 SP AA (hey, it came with the gun in a trade, and I would have burned it if it wasn't the only barrel I had at the time)

I wear Dye Core pants I got for Christmas 2 years ago, a DYE 02 Core jersey signed by lots of AO members including Cphil, AGD, Cphillip's wife, Clare...some old Vans held together with duck tape and whatever else I can find. I recently picked up a pair of Raven Havoc X pants for 40 bucks and a BE Eliminator jersey off PBGear. That said, I'm too lazy to add all of this up

But if you're concerned about money (or if I was to do it all over again), here's what I'd do:

                    AGD X RTP - 530 (ULT, ULE, Y grip)

Barrel kit - 150 (Scepter, Kaner, assortment of lower-end barrels)

Tank & accessories (drop, cradle, covers) - 200-300 (Crossfire 72/45 peanut, Nitro Duck screw ins, Centerflag Hyperflows)

                    Loader - 50-100 (Empire Re:Loader, Ricochet Apache)

Clothing - Dye C4 pants, AO jersey, Redz/Dye/JT pads, Raven gloves

Mask- whatever fits you best, pref. VForce PROFiler, JT Axiom FX10, JT Proteus
                    My feedback

Made in USA - it matters.

I can't really say there is a limit. Personally, I'd just want a Dallara bodied logic vert frame mag w/ x-valve, 16" Ultralight, PMI 68/5000, Thor, Rogueneck, and a eggy.

Numbers on that list definately don't go high enough, I mean I have more than 1k put into my stock mag setup (counting mask, jersey, etc).

Everybody should spend whatever they can afford without going in debt. If you only have a couple hundred dollars (under 400-500) for all your equipment then buy a cheaper but reliable gun like a Tippmann.
As long as your playing it doesn't matter.

I'm not sure how much each part cost its been so long and I've exchanged so many parts, but this is my setup:

                                psycoballistics drop forward

all that was under 650 (most mag parts were used)

Don't have too much money to spend on paintball cuz I'm stil in high school
