lol, there was something like that in an article in i believe APG about futuristic paintball with satalites that shot balls and stuff...

Reminds me of some weird TV movie a few years back, about this AI that wanted to attract talented people to this small town, and keep them there working on art and such..when they tried to leave, strange things would happen to keep them from going. When the main character finally gets fed up and starts walking across a field to escape the town, the AI steals a military satellite and fires laser blasts in front of him to get him to stop was actually a fairly decent movie, as I recall.
