Hey Butter, if you don't mind my asking, where did you get your hands on a dentist drill or handpiece? Do they just run off of a compressor? How much psi do they run on? Whenever I went to the dentist office and he left the room, I always wanted to play with the drill and start drilling stuff.

Yeah, they run off an oil free dental compressor. They usually will run 400,000 RPM @ 32psi. Although not reccomended, faster at higher pressures.

Here at school they provide you will all that stuff...

Nice burr. I personaly use PC board carbide drills, good for up to 50,000RPM although i run mine in the 1000 - 6000 rpm range.

You are going to school to become a dentist? Will you get in trouble if you break your drill?

              Probably...

              Or...Ill pull one of these...

Me: "Hey Roger I think the handpeice you issued me is defective... do you concur"

Roger: "Hmm how did that happen..."

Me: "I dunno it just stopped working, you know these things are older than me"

Roger: "Ok don't break this one"

              Or somthing like that...

I didnt use the handpeice for the Sear work I put the bur in a drill press and it cut.

I did however use a handpeice to mill a grove in my automag rail... It didnt work too well the aluminum is too soft it clogs up the flutes WAY too fast.
