How do all of the barrel kits work?

Not how they shoot, but how they are put together.

I've never really handled one, but I'm curious to how the different kits work.

the front screws into the back, the back screws into the gun. If its insert based, the insert usually slides into the back of the barrel, and is heeld in place between the gun breech and the front piece of the barrel/.

Is there any insert system that locks the insert into the barrel, rather than held in place between the gun breech and the barrel.

The inserts in the Powerlyte Scepter Kit are loaded from the front of the rear portion of the barrel. The front part is then screwed on and that secures the insert.

Torbo explained it pretty well. To answer your question, the insert isn't locked into the back.

There's a stop in the front part of the back piece that will keep the insert from moving. Hope that's what you were asking.
