And do the new Timmies come with "clamshell" gripframes still? The only reason I can see to make something in two pieces when it doesn't need to be is so it can be stamped out of a sheet of metal...not even Brass Eagle is that low.
The last time I chronoed my intimidator it was getting +/-1/2 (and this wasn't a fluke, it was 6-7 shots). There's next to no drop off, either. The torpedo is designed after the palmer stabalizer and is the best reg for the money. All the same, it's not lubed out of the box and it needs to be lubed with hard to find dow 55, meaning that for most people it will perform terribly. I do fault bob long for that.

As for the clamshell, it's a matter of convenience and not cost cutting. There's a lot of junk in the grip frame, and it's easier to access it with the clamshell design. In fact, it would be pretty much impossible to access it otherwise since the solenoid has to slide into the grip as well as the board. Bob does use extrusions instead of milling raw blocks of metal, which is definitely not a good thing, and he does overprice his guns, but they perform better than anything else out there so I can't complain too much.

I don't see where all the hate comes from...I suppose it's just because it's cool to dislike whatever's popular.

You don't have to grab onto that big battery pack either. Personally, I have never been in a situation where my electrics on any of my 4 electros have went down, it isn't very hard to upkeep these guns. Yeah...lowest profile, every high end gun with a no rise will have a low profile. Reliablity? Uhhhh hardely. I had more problems with my RT then I did with my impy, or angel speed. Some people once again don't know how to upkeep their guns. I love when people compare timmys to spyders. Yes they are a spyder that recocks with air. So are bkos, impys, angels, tribals. Sometimes believe it or not, simpler is bettter! Timmys are fast, have low kick, light, well balanced and easy to play with. Most people that diss them are just blindly saying stuff when they probably have never even shot a timmy.
I would never use/buy a Intimidator even if you paid me. Problems with your RT???? That's total BS. What, your valve was leaking? Change the O-Ring. Yeah so unreliable and difficult to repair.

          whoa

poor guy started a thread to find out what we called a timmy now he has an argument of whether they are the best or not.. any how in my opinion x-mag=sexy lasoya timmy=cool. i dont bash the timmys they are fast as all can be. the WAS board does ramp but that issue is being delt with by more tourneys every year. also who cares one hit is just as good as 20. the x-mag doesnt ramp and in pure e-mode it shoots only as fast as you can. if i cant have an x-mag i would have a timmy the only differences are that the x-mags use magnetic triggers and timmys have springs. they both shoot straight and do a decent job of not choping. x is a little better due to two fail safes!!! so its all preference but dont say any gun is better than another cuz it isnt true its just you dont like it and i do so get over it!!!

Yeah...having to buy a new parts kit, reg piston, and a new sear, only cost me 70 bucks to get it fixed

Why are you always so negative?

AO would be better off without you.

The one I used came with no instructions whatsoever, (and when that is the case, I don't mess with it) and was fluctuating over 50 fps. The fact that it's designed after the Stabilizer doesn't make it anything more than a clone...PPS rocks :)

I will agree with you on the part of the gun's performance, they seem to shoot quite nicely once you get rid of the reg. Although given the fact of the manufacturing methods, even though it shoots great I'm not paying twice what I think it should be priced. I'd rather have my beefy Viking

this guy is probably goin holy crap i needed to know wut it is not a whole disscussion. o well the new timmys actually dont use spyder bodies anymore.. the first ones that bob long made were out of them just to get a body, then he started bringing in the money, and he has his own bodies. why would spyder sell bodies to a competitor, when they are probably not doing as good as bob long is... think on that one.
