3.5/4 oz. Hydro

Alright, well I know these things have been discontinued and the only real places I can find them are WWA. I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of BE's last 4 oz. tanks. Now, the hydro is out of date, but I've heard that people/places won't hydro these because of their size(they're too small). I realize that even if they were to hydro them, it'd be just more effecient to get whole new tank for 35$ from WWA. I was just curious if people/shops will hydro these, or if they even need no be hydro'ed.

sounds fun n realy tiny but wouldn only hold maybe 30-40 shots? good luck on findin a hydro

I thought you only had to hydro tanks 9oz and over or something like that

It has to do with the tanks diameter. I am pretty sure these tanks are under it. tank<(certain diameter?) do not need the hydro every 5 years, but have a limited lifetime.

Also you can get way more than that off of these. your thinking 12gram size with that shot count. I've been able to shoot at least a hopper an a pod off one before filling. Probably more.

Alright well my field said they wouldn't fill my tank because it was past the date printed on the tank...

I've never seen one of those "Spare Air's" work. Some kid at my field was dying to use his. Hetried 2 or 3 cylinders and they either leaked or failed to open. I talked him into just using one of our tanks.

3.5 and 4 oz tanks NEVER need hydro unless they've been exposed to high heat, like a fire...

just like any other tank that's been in a fire should be.

But those sizes never expire, just like the 13 and 22 cubic inch HPA tanks.

Those tanks are great for pumps, I got over 300 shots to a 3.5 oz with my phantom, a 13cu will only yield a little over 200 though.

I been meaning to post this on stockclass paintball and the PHOG.

But a place on Amazon (the only paintball retailer on Amazon) has 3.5oz (alum) and 4oz tanks for sale, for a little under $25. The guy says they have both, but they're not sure what they shipped me. I'll find out next week...

ASTM standard now is tanks 2.5" in diameter or less no longer need to be hydrotested.
Tried to show that to a local field operator and he just basically called me a liar. Showed him the web addy for the ASTM and he wouldn't even consider looking at it.

I guess you can have a store and field and still be a bonehead.

And ghideon, I just saw that Amazon sells them(well a retailer does) and I didn't know if they were legit, or f they even have them in stock. I'd like to hear from you when you get your tanks. Thanks.

Either I am dumb or just slow, but I have doen every search I can think of on the ASTM website and I can't find the standard for testing cylinders. Anyone know the link? Thanks.

I also have one of these 3.5 oz tanks, and love it. It would be great to know that I do not have to retest it.
