Considering a Trix.. ? Not just another ? Thread, Sorta..

Alright currently I own the following :

Python Impy w/ all ndz intrnls
Ule Rt Pro
Dark IR3
A4

I'm looking into a trix because their quiet and flat. Go ahead and say barel to paint match but I definetly notice a differnce in the arc when I compare my angels side by side to my Python. I'm not sure if its the 14 way or the bolt that causes it.Yes same paint w/ a sceptor barrel kit. I've straped them down on the table and compared it's definetly notciable.

I'm considering going with the dye lcd (Don't have the money for a DM4 I'm already almost working pro-bono at my one job just for the experince and the other pays the bills that and I actually like the quazi shoebox shocker resemblance) and just slaping the bolt kit/lpr on. Are the dye lcd eyes any good ?

I have a few questions though. If and when I buy a Trix.I'm going to go with the EVOLVE BOLT KIT are they still super expensive ? When I was looking 4 months ago they were around $140 range and you had to pay $25 to have it shipped internationally because DYE wanted them to stop producing them I was told ? Does the C4 mod help the Evolve kit at all ?

Also what is the least maintence intensive LPR ? I'm told scms are pretty set and forget it. I use to have a 04 viking but sent it back after I paid for overnight shipping and didn't get it back till a month later when I was told it would take about a week at the max 2 weeks. I had various problems with it the was board mainly. I got it back w/ nothing fixed so I gave up and got a refund.

Also I heard dye was re-doing the lpr or reg not sure which one it was. Anyone have anymore info on this ?

Is there anything more to do really then lube/replace o-rings on the bolt ? How often do YOU have to ? Do you consider it a pain compared to your other guns ? I would appreciate as much information on maintence as you can spare. What YOU have to do and how often. Is it easy to indentify the problem ? etc..

I am not a trix specialist but I am looking into getting one to replace my emag. Effieciency was one of the things I looked into. Not totally sure one the C4 and its benifits but if you want to avoid spending that money on the evovle, you can get a leethal mod or something like that from compulsive paintball.com and it adds like 20-40% more shots per fill, for like 60 dollars i think.

BTW, i dont think the leethal mod that I talked about was used in those tests, it is a fairly new thing.

well i own a trix as my primary gun and goin from an angel to a trix i was very pleased i get tremoundes efficeny out of my gun and i only have the stock bolt it has eyes whihc is a great plus its extermely fast. what im trying to get to is u will be very happy with one

Bought my stepson a FreeFlow Matrix 2 Christmas's ago. It is quiet, real quiet. He broke the bolt stem 2 weeks ago and FreeFlow had him a new one in 3 days.

He hasn't had a bit of trouble other than the bolt. He has played hard with it since he got it 2 yrs ago. Of any of the electro's out there, I would have it second behind my E Mag.

I love my dm4. Evolve bolt supposedly in the works for it. I haven't fully tested it's efficiency yet but I do know it almost shoots til the tank is dry.

It will be fast, but what gun out nowadays isn't? I think the older trix's are a tad heavier than the dm4, but I know mine is light as a feather. And 50 cal is right, its extremely quiet.

I was very pleased with its performance over my emag, but of course it cost me a few more bills, actually if I add the cost of the ULE body on top of what i paid for my emag new; the dm4 was only $250 or so more (I got an awesome deal).

As far as the dye lcd goes, yes there is a new lpr. Its shorter and much better than the original. If you buy one and it has the original lpr, you send your old one in and dye will replace it with the new one for free minus shipping cost. All new dye lcd's are supposed to come with them stock in the near future.

i have a dye trix...

1. shot counter is over 30,000 and have not had to change any o-rings on the bolt. no leaks.(i grease it after every use)
2. dye lpr sucks...horribly. pbc lpr is an inexpensive alternative don't know about the exchange thing with dye.
3.have cp inline reg...it's great, although the stock hyper 2 works fine
4.aka scm is awesome. set it once and haven't had to touch it.
5. the stock dye trix barrel is actually one of the best barrels i have ever shot. cleans barrel breaks as good if not better that my ultralight.
6. no problems with the eyes.
7. love the gun...not as much as my mag though
8. evolve kits go for around $130-$135. check matrixowner.com for some good deals. they definately do add to the efficiency.

If you're going for a Dye trix and plan to change the LPR and bolt, you should consider getting a DM4. Lighter, faster, better eyes and simpler design.

Trust me, the DM4 worth the extra penny.

I already said i'm not intrested in the dm4. Also I thought you couldn't swap out the lpr for it because it's intergrated. I can get a lce for $800 and would cost another $220 for lpr/bolt kit. A DM4 is $1350-$1400 and the evolve bolt isn't out for it. $400-500 difference after I upgrade the DM4.

Yes. And they are compatible with the Tadao 4.0 board which you should get as soon as possible.

$135 + $25 to ship to the US. Try the Image bolt that comes with the gun first. Make sure you don't like it before you replace it. Most people still run with the Image because they haven't found a reason to replace it.

C-4 is a backplug mod. You can choose it or the Leethal, but the Leethal is nothing more than a milled out back plug which has the same effect as a mini volumizer. The Evolve already has the back plug milled out so purchase one or the other, but not both. The C-4 is not milled out, but it theoretically opens up and smooths out the airflow around the back plug. It will work with the Evolve.

They redid the DM4 LPR but they still think their rocket LPR reg is acceptable. First thing to do on a DYE Trix is ditch the regs. CP for the inline, and SCM if you want the low maintenance, but remember there is a break in period for the SCM. If you prefer tunability, try the Trinity. They both have an enclosed piston chamber. I still use the stock PBC because I have no reason to change it.

Lubing the bolt takes two minutes tops. I like to do it every time I play, but most only do it every couple of months. Lubing it every time might be a pain for some, but then again a whole year and two months went by before I had to replace an O-ring. Problems are very easy to identify. Symptoms are all listed on PBN and Matrixowner.com. Good luck.

How much is the Tado board and why do I need it ?

Tadao V4.0 is just supposed to give you alot more configurations incomparison to the current boards. FS, BS, BPS, and it can accept just about any ACE you can throw at it to my knowledge.

When I get mine, hopefully I wont see a reason to get it, my friends currently works great as is with current board w/o so I see no reason to switch, but hey, whatever floats your boat

The main reason to get the Tadao board is the debounce feature (it has one where the DYE LCD does not) is based on the end of the cycle cycle rather than the last tripping of the switch. If you have a DM4 you can get the same feature with the XSF chip.

Same thing with the bolt. Enjoy what you have and then switch it later when you think the time is right.
