At the time and for the situation which that picture was made, it was very well done and matched the mood perfectly.

If you don't know Doc Nickel or the Tinkers Guild, or Al Mollick, then I guess that is why the humour of it would be lost on you.

The Photo is real. It is not a working gun though, the picture was taken after the gun was put together for a joke. That is 'Curt's Cocker' and turned out to be a real beauty in the end. Photo's of it can be seen on www.docsmachine.com look in the gallery for 'Curts Cocker'

Under all that is actually my cocker (note the distinctive Bob-Long grip) here is how it looked after I got it back from Doc-



As Manike said it was a real picture done around the Mollick-era time. Mine was just the first gun to fall to hand when he wanted to do it.
