First Tourny in Years...and years...and years

Well, haven't been in a tourny in about a decade (the last one I was in was pump guns in the woods). Been playing speedball so that's not an issue, but are there any little things I might not be thinking of that I should bring or be aware of? I'm bringing back up equipment for everything except a loader. And I'm fully expecting to get lit up, so I don't feel as if I have unreasonable expectations.

I'd bring a back up hopper, too. Especialy if you have a Halo. Long story short, my Halo is the reason my team missed out on the semis.

Well if you plan on getting lit up, I'd suggest a couple of rolls of paper towels and a spray bottle.

Well let me rephrase. I don't plan on placing well. We've only played together a few times and apparently there are teams that have been playing in the rookie division for over ten years...

When you go to your event buy a extra shell for your loader for sure. I broke 2 lids and one eblade cocker the whole eblade broke off from the gun. So i'm in debt about 350 bucks now...

Yeah I have a few sets of spare shells, batteries and I'll pretty much bring my full tool kit. Should be fun though, a local field (shameless plug www.actionpursuitpaintball.com) is picking up the entry so we just have to pay for paint.

Buy/Beg/Steal a complete backup setup with tank, gun, hopper, barrel ready to go.

When I go to tournaments I take my complete e-mag ready to shoot and chrono it. This is primary gun

Then I have my RT mag complete and ready to go, chronoed and set (it came down to using this last weekend)

I then take one of the rental guns from the field I play at (though this time, since it was raining and there mechanical Piranhas) we took five for the two three man teams.

One of teh worst stress things to have to do is come off the field with a marker nto working correctly and try to fix it between games. If the marker does not work, put it down, get the backup, and prepare for next game. This will help you focus on the game.

This is my friendly tip, that has nothing to do wtih the game itself, but you will find will help you. Then again.. if you saw how badly we normally do, you wouldnt take advice from me either.

                  ^^

What he said.. Always have a backup linged up.. You could even make an arrangment with another team where if one of their guns goes down you lend them one, and if one of yours goes down they lend you one.. Unless you have a gun go down before you play the team you have the arrangment with you would be fine..

Oh and make sure you whipe all your hits off after a game.. Nothing sucks more then getting called on old hits.. Hell even whipe some of during a game if no ones looking jks.. Play fair :P

Play your hardest though.. The more confidence the better.. Now it is good to have mass amounts of confidence.. But don't underestimate ANY teams.. My team wooped arsh in all of our games and then lost to the easiest team we played because we under estimated them... lol.. It was down to me and a friend who's gun wasn't even working.. Needless to say we lost

Do anything to avoid being bunkered.. If you know there coming pop out and try to shoothem.. Most people run with their guns down when they're coming up to bunker you, so if you pop out and shoot them they wont have a chance..

Don't hold your gun down when your running (unless of the break, if your front your allowed)..

BUT MAKE SURE YOU ALL HAVE YOUR OWN WORKING GUNS.. haha.. We lost a tournament because we had to give guns we were borrowing back (we borrowed from a Novice team, and semis for both were at the same time).. Needless to say the last game we played in semis 5 out of 5 of our guns broke down in one form or another..
