    Help with an inconsistent torpedo

Don't know if this is the right forum or not, so if it isn't it can be moved.

ok guys, I need some help. I'm getting REALLY pissed about this. First off, I was playing with my timmy and noticing really inconsistent chrono readings (+-25). I had just lubed and cleaned everything the day before so I didn't think it could be that. I took off the torpedo and put it on a gauge to test the pressure and when I would hit the release on the gauge the pressure of the torpedo would drop about 80 psi and then climb back to 200 psi. When I tried it with someone elses torpedo the gauge would stay solid at 200psi. We tried swapping out valve pin assemblies, lubing up everything PERFECTLY, buffing up the piston and the valve pin seat. Nothing seemed to work. Is there anything else I could try? Remember that the torpedo was not connected to the gun when I did this so I KNOW the problem was with the torpedo and not anything else. any help would be appreciated.

take it apart and see if there is a small reg seat looking thing on the pin valve, if there is put on the oring instead. I've seem this problem with the HP and LP regs.

have you put about 5 cases through it yet? It generally takes about that many rounds to break in the hard reg seals.

k, i've tried with a reg seat and a reg oring...makes no difference. I haven't tried to smooth out the edges on the spring, thats what I'll try next. oh and yes, a LOT of paint has gone through these regs...they are by no means new. Thanks for the help guys. Keep any suggestions coming.

Creep comes from the reg seat. If you have tried everything, i.e. new reg seat, orings, etc then send it to BLAST they have great customer service, and will fix it up for you most likely with the only cost being the freight it takes you to ship it to them.
