If I was buying a single bore barrel, I'd run .692. It's big enough to fit everything through and cover you for swelled paint that's supposed to be .689

.688 used to be the standard for a long time... but latley it seems that every case I get I end up taking out a .690 ish sizer.

Honestly it depends on what your local paint is... when I went to the east coast last fall I was lucky to find anything but small bore paints.

.691 always did it for me but lately a few of the cases of RPS stuff i picked up were unusually small. I had premium at around .684

                I like .689

It still is better to have different bore size backs, if you can afford them.

.691 or .693. then almost every paint will fit that bad boy.

I've always had the best luck with a .688 bore size. Maybe it's just me

Personally, I use a .688-.689 all the time.

If find it interesting that the high volume players seem to prefer the larger sizes all the time -- .693 and up. I have my own theories for this.

                          ..

I have been using a .688 from my J&J kit for about 6 months now, never had a problem. But about a week ago a played a toury that had nitro duck and it was huge, I used a .693. The paint would not even fit in the .688, I am just glad I sized it before I tried to shoot it.

if you shoot a closed bolt gun, then id say 686. Open bolt, id go 689

.693 works perfectly for all paint.
