    Hose barbs are REALLY weak

I was installing a hose barb into a Timmy front block and it twisted right off. I didn't notice any change in the resistance at all (untill it came off).

Luckly I was able to stick the blade of my AGD super knife into the hole and remove the threaded portion that was left in there. Got to love the super knife!

Is this common or did I just have a really crappy barb?

It's brass. Brass is a soft metal compared to aluminum, steel and titanium for paintball guns.

In one way this was good. I was easly able to dig my knife point into the metal to get a good grip for extraction of the left over threads.

Yes, this is something that many timmy owners go through. Its a pain in the ***, but like you discovered, it is easy to get the barbs out.

I just ordered some of those "high flow" barbs and I'm hoping that they aren't even weaker due to the larger diameter hole through them.
