They're made for Roller Hockey so they are made to vent, similar to Paintball pants..

good question.. doesn't really matter for me, though. I really don't carry anything in my pockets when playing...

Since they are for Hockey wether street or ice the leg length will be short and should you buy a size where the leg is long enough how wide are those legs going to be due to the padding that both street and ice hockey players wear, expect to look like a gimp after the judges wrap you in gaffer tape for over sized clothes

Actually, for normal inline hockey pants the length is pretty normal. I use Mission pants most of the time when I play paintball. The legs are wide, but not more so then any pb pants I've seen. They're actually pretty interchangeable. And as noted the breathe very well and can usually be had for cheaper.

My Mission Apex pants breath amazingly well. There is tons of mesh in them, they breath better than any paintball paints I've ever worn.

But yeah, they are freakin huge. I'm too lazy to look up a picture of me wearing em.
