Custom Automag Questions

Hi all,

A want upgrade my old marker and have decided on an Automag, but I can't seem to find one I truely want despite all the choices I have. I'd like to have an Emag with Level 10 (does it come with this already?) and a ULE body for the cocker threads. But for that price, I might as well build nice mechanical one from scratch. I just don't know the best way to go about it. Should I get an RT Pro off eBay for the parts and order a Karta body and rail? Should I get an older Automag for the frame and order the Level 10 bolt along with a Karta body and rail? Should I get the x-valve, which comes with the Level 10 bolt, and frame separately along with a Karta body and rail? Any suggestions is appreciated.

A little background:

I've been out of the sport for a about 11 years and have recently decided to get back into it over the last several months. A lot of things had changed: compressed air versus CO2, electric versus mechanical, different bore sizes for different paint... it felt like time travel! It's nice to know that Automag and Autocockers are still around.

Anyway, the first game in played in a very, very long time showed me that my skills were still there, but my F2 Illustrator (yep, that's right, it's an F2) is a bit outdated. It seems that people don't call themselves out or a paint check when they get hit, so multiple hits are needed to be safe. The old F2 just doesn't cycle as fast I as I would like. I've been doing a lot of research over the last month and decided to go with an Automag because it's the best design, IMHO.

Seems like money isn't a huge concern for you. My tip is to either get a used E-mag with nice upgrades (must have lvl10, preferrably ULE body and x-valve as well) or a new ULE Custom RTP which costs ~500. If you are lucky you might find a ULE RTP used somewhere which should be cheaper.

if i was you i would go looking for a used emag..try for one with all the ups you want or get an old stock one then upgrade from there..there is no quality e trigger kit for the mags so dont go that way...you can also just look for half an emag ie the bottem half and fill in the rest..also if you do get an emag have the new software put in it if its not already there!! other than that the hairtrigger should be coming soon so that would be an advantage to staying mechanical and ule rt customs are for sale from agd for 340 so thats a big bargain.

Money is definitely a concern, although I do have the opinion of doing it right the first time. The more I think about it, though, the more I think that a nice mechanical mag would better suit my needs. From what I've read, there no way that my fingers are fast enough to out shoot an RTP. I am looking for used markers. Unless the price difference is really close, I think my best bet is an RT Custom ULE, and I can add the Karta body at a later time.

ok..talk to agd right now the price of the rt ules is amazingly low as in just as low as used so hopefully they will get out of back order then you can order one as well.

I'd look in the classifieds for a used e-mag. I don't have a thread, but I may have an e-mag for you in the $550-600 range (no body, you can put whatever you want onto it), if interested PM me.

Frodo, if you want unique...

I'd go with a completely ULE E-mag with 3.2, Karta body, scepter or snapshot barrel kit, flatline tank, haloB hopper, and a nice, COMPLETE ano job.

You'd be looking at somewhere in the 1300 range, but it's something you could build over time (stock e-mag, buy ULE parts, buy body, buy barrel kit, etc etc) and make it your own.
