This summer I'll be getting a DM4 and I can't decide which loader to get. I'm considering a Victory boarded Halo or a Reloader B. Those of you with Reloaders, how have they been working for you? Do you think I'll be better off with a Reloader than a normal Halo?
Halo or Reloader B for DM4?

To be honest, get whichever is cheaper. You won't outshoot either of them. Only difference is when they feed and how fast. Everything else is the same, the shape, capacity, looks, etc. The weight may be different though.'people should not be allowed to own paintguns which are smarter than they are'

I have a couple Halo B and want a Reloader B also. Honestly though unless you are going to be shooting black paint either one is fine.Comment

just got my reloader b a couple hourse ago, hooked it up to my mag and put a half case of crap through it. It works great! the ability to use different speeds is very nice (the top speed pushes balls past my detent, wish the ule mainbody had 2). Crapy paint, half a case, no breaks.
a friend of mine has a timmy alias, and he had problems chopping paint on the halo, got the reloader and all his problems went away, he loves his.
I got my reloader for 140$, it's pricey, but I like stuff that works and I never have to worry about. Since I play rec allot, I don't get to decide what the shell of my paint looks like. It's nice to know the loader will work even if they use the dark crap :)Comment

I have an Empire Reloader-B. Very nice and I got it for $110 from NPS.
I stil have to read the manual though. I don't know how to turn the speed down yet.Comment

Currently a big fan of the ReloaderB as well.
Like the few extra features, the different battery configs and the lack of an eye. Also comes with the Rip drive which no Halo should be without.
BUT.......
Either will likely suit you fine overall.Logic Paintball Forums

I have heard of the relaoders not working as well on matrices due to the minimal amount of noise they make.
I also don't like having to turn my hopper on EMPTY every time for it to boot up correctly.
Halo + victory all the way.
At least that is what I have on my DM4 and it works excellent.Cobalt DM4

A lot of people thought it was because the Matrix was too quiet, but it was actually because of not doing what you said; turning it on with the feedneck empty. If the feedneck is full, the Reloader will jam during calibration. The Empire is actually very sensitive to the sounds on the INSIDE of the hopper. I cycled my NYX with paint while my tank was so low the balls were barely able to eject from the breech and the Reloader spun consitantly with every shot.Originally posted by afrankartI have heard of the relaoders not working as well on matrices due to the minimal amount of noise they make.

And yes, it is a bit more of a hassle because if you turn it off between games with paint in the feedneck, you must turn the marker upside down and use the rip-drive to empty the feedneck.
However with further experimentation I found the reloader doesn't shut off until around an hour of non-use, so leaving it on between games is perfectly alright. The sound made from paint simply rolling around in your hopper will keep it on, so you don't have to check your watch to see when it will shut off. Also, I have been using 4 NiMh rechargeables instead of the Halos 6, and have used it for two days of play so far, not shutting it off between games, and I'm still waiting for the blinking red light (low battery). A two battery difference doesn't seem like much, but it really is noticeably lighter and less top-heavy on the gun.
And, I don't know if anyone else is having problems like this with Odyssey, but I sent them my Halo for a motor replacement which arrived there 3 weeks ago according to UPS, and so far I have left 7 messages (I am logging them) and they haven't called me back once. If I reach 10 messages with no phone call, I'm going to tell them to keep the Halo.
Nothing personal to Halo owners. I just prefer to use a Reloader. The biggest reason being it won't jam and start blinking red in the middle of a 3 on 1 while I am using bright yellow Evil paint at the house on the fifty at the right tape of the Arena at SC Village.Miscue - *Banned for: Flaming, disruptive behavior, and overall jackassery* -Brian

Aw man why you gotta bag on my Halo B now. Btw it did have a V35 board for anyone wondering. BUT it's my back up hopper so there was no Rip Drive on it either which would have helped.
Sorry for the bunk hopper Skillz

I would say neither. IMO Halos are to unreliable. Get a z boarded eggy like me! Feeds fast enough. I empty a halo too freakin fast anyways.Germany's Most Wanted Balla is sponsored by:

Each have its good and bad. I own 2 Z board Evo II and 3 Halo B V35. I would have to go with the Halo for speed and durability. Given some people have problems with them but if you take them apart they are actually very simple.Originally posted by bunkermaster10I would say neither. IMO Halos are to unreliable. I've had problem frying board and motors on my Evo II in the past. Also there is the issue with battery covers, lids, raceways, and shells breaking.
I do like the extra balls held in the Evo II but that only apply to off the break. Once you start filling pods well a pods a pod. As far as ball spillage once you know how to time your fills its not a problem.Comment

The Reloader B is a great hopper, by far one of the best on the market currently, as long as it is calibrated properly. When you first turn it on, if there is balls in the neck or rolling around inside it, it will calibrate at a higher threshhold due to the ambient noise level and cause feeding problems, especially markers like the Matrix that cycle very quietly.
Also since it's sound based, paint color is invisible to it entirely, which eliminates the problem that's always plagued the Halo series.
