    Quick questions involving fill stations

My friend is offering me his fill station and tank for 40 bucks. Its in good shape, but I was wondering how long the tanks hydro lasts. It is a regular scuba tank, about waste high. Also how bad is the drop off? I heard that once you fill your tank full, the next fill won't be all the way.

Hydro every three years and a visual inspection every year.
If the Scuba is filled to 3000 and your tank (68/3000) is at 1000 each time you fill I beleive the pressure drops about 215 to 225 PSI per fill. You can get about 6 useful fills out of it. The last will be below 2000 however.

A scuba and fill station for $40!!! That's a steal! The fill station usually cost about $50 new.

If you don't buy it, PM me and I'll take it. Seriously.

there are no regs on scuba tanks, just a valve. I think its called a K-valve.

yup. 5 years. the government recently changed it from 3 to 5 years. i still think some are 3 years though. if you go to this website http://hazmat.dot.gov/exsys.htm and look up the tank number you can see all the exceptions that apply to the tank. and regardless of the tank, 15 is the service time. at that time toss the tank. no place will test it, or should fill it.

I am giving the kid the money tomorrow for the tank. He is a kid at school that i play with often and a former teamate. He just no longer needs it and he has others. Thanks for the information about it.
