I want to build a cocker, maybe (Doc Nickel is EVIL!)

So I have been mulling over a new mach gun for awhile. so why not a cocker.

Doc's new body kits are nice, http://www.electrococker.com/fastback/

anyone have a list of parts I need to build a cocker? I really need a list of the smaller parts, I plan on just buying a front block kit so what else do I need?

I've built a couple of cockers from scratch. Let's see, excluding the front block kit, you'll need:

    actuating rod
    pump arm
    vertical regulator
    trigger frame
    IVG (velocity adj. nut)
    valve
    valve retaining nut
    hammer
    springs
    cocking rod
    ball detent
    beavertail
    back block
    bolt
    bolt pin
    s/s screw kit

Think that's it. Good luck! Building a cocker is a lot of fun. :)

those vids of the pbx cocker are nice, but there's a flaw to that second 'recoil test video'...there's no paint in the marker. You can't truly and accurately measure recoil without paint, because it does affect the system as a whole.

The easiest thing to do if you are contemplating building a cocker is to buy a used one that has parts that you like and then upgrade it.
You should be able to pick up a pre 99 cocker for a great deal. Then you already have all your timing rods , small internal parts , etc just waiting for a new body to be put into. Those small parts will nickle and dime you to death.
I did it that way and built a marker that retails new for nearly $1K and I have right at $200 in it.

Looks like a copy of the turtle cockers, with some nicer milling. It looks nice, but for some reason, I don't like it that much.

Once you learn the basics of a cocker's operational principles, they're a kick in the rear to build. I've built a few, my first being a '99 that I bought used, stripped down and reassembled (for learning purposes) then modified. My latest is a custom bodied Worrbladed unit I built from total scratch, including the drill press work for the eye, etc.
If I can do it, most anyone can... :)

-Technically, the Turtles are "copies" of the Pro-Team "MicroCockers", which date back to about '98 or '99, and it could be argued the MicroCockers are themselves derived from the old "Mongoose" conversion from about two years prior to that.

And it's no secret the Fastback is basically the same concept as a Micrococker, Racegun Halfblock, Martin 'Cocker or Turtle 'Cocker. Just as the Nexus is really no different, except cosmetically and in a few small details, from a WorrBlade, which is itself little different, except cosmetically, from a Karnivore. I mean, other than the modular breech, what's the functional difference between a C&C X-Mag and a standard base model E-Mag?

What I wanted was simply a 'Cocker body that uses a lightened reciprocating mass, but one that also looks a little better or fancier than the Martin or Turtle conversions.

Wait'll you see some finished ones.

                        Doc.

well the x comes with eyes, the weight difference...it comes with a better vavle (than the older e-mags) that hump on the back feels alot more comfy (yes i feel that is function ) different barrels, come with different software...

btw i have been meaning to ask you doc, can you make a body with a removable breech for my e-mag...and if so how much

Im no cocker wiz and am looking to build one up to. The new Doc body kits always say for the electro grips could you use one with a mech frame ?
If i could that would be great it would get rid of my feer of the back block hitting my face with a vert frame :)

You can def. use one of Doc's bodies with a mech frame. It is afterall a standard 2000 spec cocker body, aside from the bolt. I think this body is so freakin sexy. I am working on acquiring one of these for myself, but in minicocker size.
