    Just how quiet are the 14 inch unrifled hammerheads?

    I was considering getting one if I ever upgrade to a ULE body and that's definatley one of the things I'm looking for. I'm also open to any other barrels. Thanks for your help.

    Hammerheads = junck
    rifling is a useless feature, as it DOSENT WORK!!!
    Someone give hims the rifling physics thread link.
    Invest in a stiffi, a little bit more in price, but WWAAAAAAYYY better.
    If I see one more "What happened to smart parts" thread, I will kill Adam Gardner. You have been warned.

      And why are stiffi's better then any other barrel? Besides being lighter? Barrels are the most overhyped thing ever, the stock barrel on my timmy, shoots just as good as my ultralite. Yeah, I fell for the hype and spent 50 on my ultralite(used), when my stock barrel works just as good if not better. A good big bore 50 dollar barrel is all you need ever, period.

              To answer your question it really depends on how much porting is on it. The more porting the quieter. Oh and the other guys are right the rifling doesn't do anything.

                man stiffi's seem to be becoming popular

                More porting and combined with longer length = more quiet

                  The Hammerhead's porting design makes it is one of the quietest barrel from your enemy's standpoint, but it is easily one of the loudest barrel from the shooter's standpoint...

                  Why? Backwards Angled Porting. It makes cleaning after shots much harder though.

                  Basically the porting is the exact opposite of Evil Pipe's porting.
