In the old days (1986), a buddy of mine took one to the upper lip at SC Village (goggles only). It looked like a giant herpes canker.

240 was apparenly the field limit...
and that brings true meaning to butt cheek... or butt chin for the matter
but that sucks!! - i got one of thoes when 3 balls hit dead on the side of my neck - rumor went around the whole school that i had gotten a hicky from ____ (my ex-GF), when infact, i had been pwned in the neck while volunteer reffing
ps: jesus cryer - that gave me the chills, but for some reason, i felt compelled to stare at it for a few seconds and analyze it

Wow, my GF would have been PISSED!
She wasn't happy when the welt she got on her thigh turned into a black and blur mark 6" across that lasted at least two months (no exaggeration believe me I had to hear about it).
That was the last time she went paintballing."Relax. Don't worry. Have a Home Brew."

My wife had (until recently) a quarter sized scar on her right wrist from 1988 from a paintball hit she took, its now gone thanks to the new scar remover medications you can buy off the shelf at your favorite pharmacy. If your GF looks like's she's starting to scar up, do her a big favor and send her to the pharmacy to get some of the scar stuff, there were at least 10 different brands last I saw, and all pretty much do the same thing.
The crappier the paint quality, usually the more damage done to the skin. Better quality paint shells disapate the enegery better and will usually only leave a bruise, whereas crappy paint will lacerate (cut) the skin badly in a circular pattern. If you're cutting costs by using crappy paint, you will literally be cutting the people you're shooting at.

I have absolutely NO idea where you guys dream this crap up. I've been 'cut' by Expensive paint (evil, marbs etc) and by the cheap Zap stuff too. The fact of the matter is, a sphere flying at you at 300FPS will sometimes break skin (the shell is rather firm gelatin) depending on the angle of impact.Comment

I got one straight in the mouth (wearing a flex7). Most of the shell was stopped by the flex part, but ALL of the paint went into my mouth. My lip also bled for a little while. But there wasn't even a bruise. BTW that was at 290 fps from about 50 feet.Originally posted by coolcatpeteI got 3 on the roof of my mouth, all because of the flexies. oh well they are still awsome.

No need to dream anything up, not all paints are created equal or react the same upon impact, some bounce more then others, some have more brittle shells then others, some weigh more then others, some lacerate more then others. Talk to your local field owner, they'll tell you the same thing, some paints result in a higher number of "cuts" then others. Its a direct correlation to type of shell used (not all brands use the same type), the manufacture quality (is the ball perfectly filled or are their airspaces, does the fill seperate easily, does the fill react with the shell?), the age of the paint, and how it's been stored.Originally posted by MindfluxI have absolutely NO idea where you guys dream this crap up...
That's just the paint side, the other factors involved are the range and velocity the paint was fired at, the angle of impact, what part of the body it struck (some body parts take impact damage better then others), etc.

AGD Did someone call me?
You should go to each gun manufacturers forum or call them up. Ask the OWNER of the company why his gun is better. When you get your answers come back here and tell us what they said.
You should buy my gun because I have 5000 posts that say I care.

Chances are it never spiked over 240. Outta 6 shots at the chrono it was 220 to 230."Your just a myriad on inner conflict aren't you?"
